Taking the odd 5 minutes away from the screen to do some procrastination such as cleaning & tidying helps sporadically but, of course, planning things with friends/colleagues in person or via zoom definitely motivates you.ย

That, or having a beer at 16:30 works, it's acceptable when at home.ย

Time Blocking has helped me a ton. But the biggest thing is I tell myself we hit todays goals/KPIs I can kinda chill for the rest of the day (For me I am able to get everything done by about 3:00p.m. each day giving me two hours to goof off a bit or take it a bit slower).ย

Basically I dont expect myself to be going 100% at home all the time and I make sure I get done what I have to

If you haven't read it yet, check out Atomic Habits by James Clear, or view this short keynote speech he presented:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNeXuCYiE0U&feature=emb_title

The essence is that you need to take a look at what habits drive good success in your daily routine and which ones put you in a different direction.

One of the best ways of doing this is to first utilize a Habit Scorecard to understand your current workflow:

Description:ย  https://jamesclear.com/habits-scorecard

Template: https://s3.amazonaws.com/jamesclear/Atomic+Habits/The+Habits+Scorecard.pdf

In addition to this idea above, Clear goes into some ideas about how to further culminate in better habits (habit stacking for example).ย

Sure thing! I went through a workshop of this book right at the beginning of COVID, and it really helped our team focus and redefine productivity as most of us had never worked remotely at all.

It is NOT EASY, but I think the key for me has been to set daily goals. My goal is always to set 1 meeting a day for myself amongst other things. As long as you hit your goals, doesn't matter the road to themย

I divide my work consistently into the amount of hours I have available (8 - meetings and appointments) and I am to hit 100 - 125% of that during my first couple of hours to have a relax afternoon so I can be more active in the war room!ย

before you go offline for the day, outline tomorrow's scheduleย

I've also found it to be helpful to switch up where you're working. spend some time on the couch, at your desk, at a cafe, etc.

I make a list of the Top 5 things I'll do each day (ex. Demo for XYZ, Complete my salesforce tasks, Add 20 new contacts, Meet with my BDR, Update customer account plans) - cross them off, and then before I wrap up write my Top 5 things for the next day.

anyone else work harder at home than in the office? I feel like because I'm working from home I have to produce more. Also, have a hard time taking breaks at home compared to the office.

Plan the day is a must as others have said. Force yourself to take breaks and lunch so you don't feel like you have all day to dick around.
