How Do You Use Linked-In for Selling?

We are really digging deep into Linked-In and how to more effectively utilize this as a sales tool for our SDRs. We have a new marketing campaign that is generating lots of leads via Linked-In that are warm conversations, which makes us realize we need to step up our game. Currently no success via Linked-In.

1. Use sales navigator to create target account and contact lists. Set daily or weekly email reminders for new contacts and accounts added to those lists.

2. Follow your target accounts and send connection requests (I send blank now - some people recommend personalizing messages) to your prospects.

3. Start engaging with your prospect’s content in a non-sales way. Add value as much as possible.

4. Send a 50 second personalized video intro (using LI messenger on mobile app) to your prospects when they accept your connection request. 10 second intro - 30 second personalized value prop - 10 second soft CTA.

5. Repeat and add more contacts/accounts to the mix. The less salesy you are up front and the more you add value and build credibility, the more meetings you will book.

Who is your ICP? The performance of your social selling initiatives depends highly on this. For example, salespeople are much more active on LinkedIn while software engineers might not be.

Yeah unfortunately I can't help out there very much. The most successful social sellers that I know sell to salespeople and B2B marketers. Their goal is mainly focused on sparking conversations, not necessarily pitching people.

just keep liking all of those peoples posts for a while and then send them the pitch so they will have your name in their head.

Almost exclusively research at this point. Navigator messaging success rates used to be through the roof. These days..not so much.

I don't typically use Linkedin to sell nor do I think people like to be sold on Linkedin.

I just Linkedin as a touch point, send a super personalized message, and continue to use phone/email as a channel to get the meeting.
