How does quota relief work

How does your company quota relief work? For me, if you take more then 5 days off and apply successfully for quota relief, you are only responsible for 65% of regular quota. It does not matter if you take 5 days off or 20 days off.


For us we can only apply for quota relief once per calendar year even though the company gives us 25 PTO days/year.

I've only worked for one company that offered this, but I only knew of 2 reps that ever got it approved.

We get it approved as long as you have been hitting quota and target the 3 months prior to requesting.ย

Got it--but I still think 65% is pretty high. 50% makes more sense.

Had to take 2/3rd of the month off to do some hospice work for my grandpa and my thought process leans into you take 50% of the selling days off, you get 50% of quota, you take 25% of the month off, hit 75%

I've also never heard of this so I'm intrigued...

I've heard of a lot of companies having an unlimited PTO policy but the rule of thumb is, hit your number and we don't care* when you're in the office.

*They probably do care but it's what they put to stand out and get new people to apply.

Interesting.....we dont have quota relief at all, so I'll be checking back to see what others say. Since it's only once a year, I don't know how helpful it is BUT I mean once a year is better than nothing I guess. If we take vacay you got to straight hustle to make quota...its often not worth it

I've never heard of quota relief. If my time off is planned in advance that is sometimes used to help figure out what quota will be but typically quota doesn't change much and I've never called it quota relief.

I've not heard of this before, I like the idea but it seems like it adds a lot of complexity to things that really isn't needed.ย 

Can you explain to me what happens to you now if you miss quota at your company?

basically our quota is 65% of normal. We go on a pip if you are below 80% of quota as a running 3 month average.ย 

basically if I have to hit 10 deals in an average month, the month of quota relief would be 6.5 deals.

That s something I ve never heard.ย 

Quota is quota at most companies. Your PTO is calculated in the quota.ย

For us, your quota can only change once per year regardless of PTO days
