No pips or any kind of feedback then randomly fires them after many bad months.

Having them way to long. We have people in sales, who hasn’t performed serval month (talking 4-5) and still with us. Can’t fucking believe it.

Sounds like y'all are focused on monthly sales? 4-5 months isn't a big deal in my world.

Agreed.  My company kept underperformers for 2+ yrs before getting shot.  The bad news is they didnt replace them and it was up to me to fill the void.

Many variables here. New employee? Sales cycle?

If an AE is not performing then you get coached before being put on a 30 day plan.

Good questions. Say employee beyond the 90 day ramp phase and short sales cycle. Retention based environment, average sale cycle 2-3 weeks.

Coach and find out what's up? Is the employee engaged? Do they have a disconnect or need more training?

I love the willing and able chart for this. It’s my go-to.

willing & able = rockstars
willing & unable = coachable
unwilling & able = talented, but need a 🥾 to the 🍑
unwilling & able = no hope, move on

It isn’t 1 size fits all. Extenuating circumstances exist but if someone really isn’t cut out you’re only hurting them more by keeping them IMO. They’re a drain to the company and the point is to be making commish in sales so if they’re not doing that either probably best for both sides to have an open discussion and part ways.
