How have you been keeping up with your mental health while WFH?

I am personally missing the feeling and the sound of the bell ring when a deal is closed or just the energy from the sales floor.

Schedule 5 min breaks on your calendar throughout the day. This makes me get up, stretch, walk, and gets me away from the screen for a few. The reset works.

I love this. I could use these 5 minute breaks as gaps in-between back to back meetings.

I definitely miss the energy but I do a couple daily walks to clear my mind and get away from the screens

Daily walks are definitely something I need to start incorporating. During the winter months, this was harder and I definitely felt the toll of WFH more often.

Great point - honestly, I've found hiking to be my respite. Was finding myself at the bottom of a wine glass / Pax a bit too often (like...every night...) and with the gym closed, it wasn't trending well.

But hiking gets my mind clear, heart racing, and refocused.

I wish I had some more hiking trails near me but biking has been my solace lately.

Slack calls help make you feel like you’re in the office and “walking over to someone’s desk real fast”

I find that this still doesn't help me much because of zoom/slack/teams fatigue of being on video all day.

I used to work from home full time for about 10 years, and I got into the habit of "commuting" to and from my home office.  My "commute" was 20 minutes of uninterrupted "mental time" whether it be on a walk, or just listening to sports radio, I found I needed to separate the spaces a bit, and decompress when shifting from work to home (and vice versa)

I really like this point about a habit of "commuting". Taking those breaks of uninterrupted mental time.

I also got in the habit of “going out” to lunch, which usually meant not sitting at my desk to eat

I definitely miss the hallway chats/coffee breaks. I need to take more breaks and take weekends off.

I find that I am staying on later than I would have if we were still in office. I also need to take more breaks and weekends off for sure. Self care is important.

At first I wasn't doing anything. Ultimately decided to place a greater emphasis on my mental well being.

Things like creating a routine to get active, outside, meditate, listen to podcasts, to disconnect from work.

Our sales team actually does weekly stuff like a F45 class on Zoom together to help us maintain mental wellness.

That is awesome that your team does weekly F45 classes. I would love that.

Taking walks, zooming with colleagues, and taking breaks as needed to clear my head and reset.
