How important is it to define ICP

How important is it to define ICP while going for the Outbound Lead Gen. I am a bit confused, if you'll make it too tight then the lead count will go down but if you'll not do that even that is a problem. What is the best practice and what all elements we can take care of while defining ICP?

It depends on how long your company has been selling and how flexible you are with the ICP definition.ย 

So often I hear of people 'defining' their ICP after closing ~$800k in revenue. With all due respect, you don't know what your ICP is. You have a theory and that's great, but it's important to realize that you might be missing some seriously powerful segments of potential customers.ย 

SO don't ONLY reach out to "ICP". You can focus on it, but it shouldn't be 100% of your outreach.ย

Depends on what you're selling, but usually better to start a little broader then refine your search based on what your earing on the phones

Make sense .. Strategy can be to have a little broader definition and then narrow it down further as and when it is requiredย
