How important is your company's website?

My startup's website blows. I've been told by numerous prospects that they weren't quite sure what we did before they talked to me. I'm sure it's also turning off potential prospects that have browsed through and have chosen not to proceed any further. So my question is, how important is the company website for building trust and credibility?

its super important. especially for Start ups. 

How else are people expected to learn about your product? 

I am dealing with the same problem. 

We SOMEHOW got an inbound lead and they told us on the call they almost didnt reach out because our website was not clear on what exactly we do haha

100% Agree. I had multiple inbounds come in, and when reaching out to set up a call I am asked to provide collateral first before they take the call. That's not how it works.

It's the face of the company on the internet. 1 thing I've seen many websites do incorrectly is having extremely complex language on the homepage which causes visitors to drop-off within seconds. The best websites' homepage copy are written in a way which is understandable to 5 year olds.
