How many call steps does your cadence have AEs?

Curious to see how many everyone else has. As a BDR that number should be as high as possible - but as an AE, it's important not to have too many steps stack on top of each other and fall behind when prospects can otherwise continuously be moving through. We already have limited time to prospect as it is.


I'm in the camp of more calls = the better, and getting them on the phone is the best way to book the meeting. I have 7 call steps throughout my 22 day cadence. But - I'm curious if I'd be more productive at moving prospects through with less, but I don't like lessening my chances of getting them on the horn.

The more calls the better. I’ve come from sales environments where we’ll call the prospect 2-8x per day, depending on how aggressive we were trying to be. Generally at least once every 4 business days. For a 22-step cadence in modern tech sales (specifically tech) a call once every 4-7 business days sounds good to me. And I’d run a 22 stepper over probably 3 months, but idk how yours is configured.

Also depends completely on how long the cadence is. But an optimal length is around 2 weeks long, I like to start with a cold call, end with a cold call and call at least once in between each email
