How many non-sales meetings SHOULD you have a week to really be productive?

This is probably as old a topic as sales itself, but I thought I'd turn it into a poll for one good reason: I'll share the results as stats with my leadership team later this week. I think it's important they get a better view on what productivity is not just from our reps but from a tribe such as this one :)

One-two is acceptable. I'm floored that some orgs have more than that on a regular basis.

As a rep I never got more than 5 a week including weekly forecast meetings, but as a manager and director...10 was like the minimum.

Agh. I voted how many I actually have. Not what I think I should have.

You just made me realize it's my fault, the text is not that clear. Thanks for calling that out!

I really think it depends on the product or solution you are selling, different products will have different market sizes and prices which will either increase or decrease the "correct" number. In most SaaS I would say 1-5 a week per rep should do the trick, based on my limited experience.

I personally think Zero.  Or at most One.  I think meetings can be a huge time suck for productivity.

Anything over 3 has to be overkill. the 18% that responded 6+, what the hell are you covering in these meetings and how is that is better ROI than prospecting, pitching, closing.

>3 is too much. In my case, it's bullshit marketing meetings that are mandatory to tell us about all the "hot" MQLs we're about to get which turn into trash.

I always hated that kind of meetings. I have to say that even as a manager I hated them.

I think one ‘fun’ one a week and one end of week activity (overview) would be ideal. Anything else important can be put in when needed.

Depends on how you're counting these. Do internal meetings preparing for customer calls count? If so, it could be quite a few. If we're only talking about team huddles, forecasting and training calls then 1 to 5 would be the max.

Well it's always internal meetings, but my point was meetings that are definitely not about sales.

Yeah, 1-2 definitely would be the max I’d want to see weekly.

Tbh they're all on a scale between "fucking useless" and "worthless as tits on a bull" but I have to be nice to Sales Ops because they can fuck me the most. And not in the fun way.

I sell a technical product, I need my SE. I basically set next steps, keep things moving forward, and explain pricing lmao.
