How many red flags are too many….

Started a new role in March, since then it has been a dumpster fire of changes at the org. Getting a bit panicky on trajectory of the org

  • VP of sales left 3 weeks in
  • New VP is a ghost on slack/ EOQ
  • VP of biz dev left 10 weeks in
  • On our 5th BDR leader
  • CEO is too cheap to pay for Outreach/SFDC for the BDRs….

Context: 30 AEs, 30 BDRs, 12 mil ARR.

last quarter only 4 of us hit goal.

Is it time to bounce?

If you look around and 1) the org CANT keep people that is a huge indicator of something wrong with the structure
2)They won't pay for tools that would leverage success of their team in exponential ways and/or won't make the investment (pinching pennies) even though their competitors have that as the standard.

I've seen this in a past org where management was disconnected and didn't pay into their team.
My vote is GTFO

Especially true given the seniority of those leaving so quickly. They have insight that @Fucked doesn't.

100% agree with @DungeonsNDemos! GTFO! There are several reasons for a revolving door in management positions and NONE of them are good! Sounds like the problem is that the C level and that shit can't be fixed by mgmt. underneath so that is likely why they keep bailing.  You should too!

I would get out as quickly as you can, the job market is hot and honestly this seems like a burning ship.

The fact that they ramped up as much as they did but there wasn't an increase upon revenue means they may not be drowning currently in overhead costs but their ankles are weighted down in the deep end of the pool.

CEO too cheap to pay for tech and only 4 people hit goal is way too much information to say Adios. Don't even need to consider anything else.

There's much better sales cultures out there

It’s becoming a joke. I had to chase down my VP to send an email to help with a 70k deal. Last day or the quarter.

Wow 112 headcount and looks like including management 70 of them are sales?  Yeah this reeks of a 'lets hire everyone we can, only expect them to get 25% of their goal.'  Remember, with valuations going they way they are, if you were to source or close a 100k ARR deal, the company's shareholders would stand to make 20x that (or $2m) off of you in company valuation.  I've been there.  it sucks.  it makes you miserable.  it DOES NOT make you money

This is exactly what it feels like.

every month the burden shifts more and more on us to self source.

suddenly we are told to commit to a weekly dial count.

Has the revenue been consistent? I find the churn numbers normal because I have seen this before as well and that didn't affect the company at all. But you might want to keep an alert !

In theory it has….but we went from 9 reps to 30 in the short 8 months.

it’s not revenue growth as much as dispersed amongst more reps.

But our leaderboard was:
1. 212%
2. 160%
2. 117%
and then drops to 80% with several under 20% to goal.

All this to say…..if your team is growing with remote AEs….my inbox here is open. Clearly I’m on a sinking ship.

Do you like the product you are meant to sell?
Are you given enough freedom to do things on your own?
Do you see growth in the company?

If answer of all these 3 is yes, then you should consider staying for some time.

Also reach out to the ones who left the company and ask why they did, hopefully, they didn't find something illegal happening in the company and then left.

Regardless of how f'd you are or any other factors, this company seems to have a metric crap ton of sales employees and no revenue.  IMO at somepoint they're going to sack 45 or so of the 60.

4 hitting your goal is better than the 0 I have at my company for Q3. I think it was set too high, but I’m at over 200% for the year end. So I really can’t complain.
