How many screens you running? An add on.

What's up gang? I've been thinking about getting another screen for work and was thinking first I want to hear what are the absolute pros and cons of having extra screens for work, especially when we're speaking of 2+ screens running at a time.

I was following up on the post that @HarryCaray made a few months ago (link at bottom of post) and saw that the majority at the time have just the laptop and an additional screen. Does it matter what screen I get?

Also saw this awesome screen, the Xebec https://www.thexebec.com/, and it looks pretty fucking awesome, wondering if anyone has one or anything similar to it and if they give any feedback on it.

This tri screen looks ok if you don't mind annoying the people next to you at the starbucks.  For 499 us it looks like you can get 2 24" monitors for your home office.

Personally I prefer two full screens for "work" and one screen to keep an eye on the slack chatter.  When I want to work outside I choose the laptop only but it's pretty small.

I only work from home, never at a coffee shop. I tried working from a mall once and it's just too distracting.

Keeping an eye on slack is so important! I miss so many meetings because I simply just power through calls and forget to pay attention to the comm channels from time to time.

What size of the screen do you like to work with? I've been working on a 15" laptop for like 3 or 4 years now and I feel anything bigger than that it's an upgrade haaha

I have my laptop and 1 32" curved monitor that I love. Im weird and hate seems between my screens so I went with 1 larger screen so everything is in one place and its nice and fluid.

As per your question if screen matters, thats all personal preference. If you are particular and want really high quality image and refresh rates, spend on a nicer monitor. If not then just drop $200 on a 24" you can get from best buy and youll be happy.

Thanks for the input! Imma have to sit down and check some the lower end ones at first i don't fully jump in with technology that easy.

To be honest it’s a massive change going from 1 screen to 2, and it’s not for everyone. I tried it and failed. So my best advice is try someone else’s setup before you buy a monitor that you’ll hate or never use.

Good advice my frond! I've worked with two monitors before back in graphic design school and it helped a bunch with photoshop and other design programs running. so maybe?

I run my laptop and a a 27" widescreen. The additional screen is invaluable, especially for demos.

If I had more space at my place, like a dedicated office, then I'd totally have 2 27" and my laptop.

Although that tri thing looks cool for travel, or if you work out of the home but not in the office a lot.

Those curved monitors are expensive tho, worth the try! I need to have something extra going TBH.

Love the keyboard by the way, on the verge of buying it too but my priority at the moment is getting a second or third screen going

Interesting, what advantage do you have over having just 2 screens? I'm thinking of buying just one screen but then I saw that application that's on the link and felt that's the move to make with a laptop

I have 3 screens: 1 laptop in the middle with two monitors attached for 2 additional screens.

Screen 1: CRM
Screen 2: Calendar & communications
Screen 3: Browser or Spreadsheet (maybe even a sporting event if golf or F1 is on while I'm working.)

My advantage is my workflow and efficiency of what I can do in a condensed period of time. I am able to get more done in a focused 5 hour day than most in an 8-10 hour day, in part thanks to multiple screens.

I have 3 - 22" screens.  1 screen is email/CRM/ringcentral and other stuff on chrome.  1 screen is designated for processing orders and 1 screen is for my open orders portal to keep an eye on that and make sure items are shipping on time.

Do people in sales need more than two? I have the laptop and the monitor but the laptop just sits playing music with the occasional spreadsheet which i always forget about.
