Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Do you mean actual prospects, leads that have downloaded something or pure outbound?

Actual Prospects if you been able to get through to them or they won't respond to your emails, or voicemails. Is it worth following up for months on end with no return?ย

For a true prospect, follow up occasionally (1-2x a month) with content or events relevant to them. But don't just follow up constantly.
For people you made outbound contact with, just throw them in a drip campaign and check back in maybe once a quarter.

If you are selling to the C-suite or VP level - 2/3 times over a week. if they don't reply, I bet its dead and marketing should nurture for you

I read somewhere that it takes on average like 4 touches to actually get a response.ย  I'd say 5-7 times on a completely cold prospect.ย  For someone who you've run a meeting with you should follow up considerably more, and with your final outreach attempts you can get a bit more aggressive.ย  "Have you given up on this?"ย  "I get the sense that this isn't a priority anymore", etc.

Yeah this question either needs more clarity or is dependant on so many factors....

I follow up until I get a no. But being incredibly persistent in the beginning and then slowing down to eventually a monthly to the point email is how I get a lot of my sales now. But in my industry, itโ€™s 100% relationship based. So keeping relevant and always finding a reason to or another way to communicate with them, like social media, is one of the only ways to close. I close a lot of other reps past leads because they gave up before the customer was ready to buy.ย

I think itโ€™s hard to apply a general rule of thumb here. Obviously, no one wants to lie but some gatekeepers can be riding high on their own perceived authority and make things more difficult than they have to for seemingly no reason.
