How many “touches” does it take to get a meeting?

Curious what other sales savages have experienced in number of touches it takes to book a meeting with a cold lead / prospect.

3-5 is standard but usually those are unqualified and are more a result of persistence. If you have a solid message that resonates with a prospect it should only take 1-2 times.

agree. I find that if the message resonates I can generally get a message back after email 2 - which is normally a float up type email. Mind you, I am prospecting into SMB-MM companies. ENT is a whole different ballgame. I'm no expert there but I think it requires more touches?

Totally agreed. My best qualified leads are always ones who weren't that tough to get at.

Bonus question: When you finally get that meeting booked, did the prospect commit over a phone call, email, or social message?

I’ve had the most success talking to a prospect on the phone, sending over some collateral afterwards and from there booking a meeting via email

if your follow-ups are value-based, you can do as many as you like. I tend to keep it between 3-5.

I read that as Touche, and i thought it was super troopers meow that you had to say Touche 10 times to a prospect. LOL. I liked it better then.

But for real it takes 8-14 these days it seems

How many times will you call a prospect after they don't answer the first time? At what frequency? I typically don't make a lot of repeat calls, just call with volume consistently and try to catch folks at the right time...
