How much do you make % wise in commission and base salary?

What does a typical split look like for you guys? Either the average month or OTE? For my team the AE/BDM role sits at 50/50 OTE, but uncapped.

We're 50/50 with uncapped commish. Live off of your base and commission is the icing on top!

I'd feel too restricted living off my base. I'm about to buy a property and asked my manager if I should only factor in base in my budget. Her exact words were, "If you do that, based on your performance, you'll buy a tiny apartment and end up with a super expensive car parked out the front."

Uncapped commish, also no stated OTE (we are a small team), but as of 2 months ago now have an expected sales # per month...
though it doesn't help as all 3 of us on the sales team do different things and markets.
If I hit that unrealistic #, that puts my Salary to Commission ratio of 30/70 %

I may or may not be mad that they keep switching it up. Plus cut our commission % in half when they decided to set a monthly quota.
ok /end rant

@Sgt_Trollingham My business is structured b2b and then ultimately its b2c. I built a network of realtors/brokers, wealth managers, business managers, CPAs that all refer me business which is the end consumer. My focus was on building relationships with people that i could bring reciprocate value to in some way that could drive business my way. It's the most sustainable platform in my opinion, but the pressure is on to deliver for the clients referred to you or you may lose a relationship and a lot of business.  Now i have 50 realtors, few wealth guys, etc. and my phone just rings all day.

30k base and anywhere from 1-6% commision on each deal depending on margin and type of deal (anywhere from about $50k-500k per deal) and closing anywhere from 5-20 deals per month.

Also company truck (2017 f350) with free diesel anywhere in the state.

The truck/company car is definitely a nice perk! You can use it as if it was your own i.e. privately, and on the weekends too?

Looks like the upside is great, but 30k base is pretty low... any upward mobility? Do you have enough saved, for a decent vacation? That always struck me as the problem with low base.

Not sure as I was told it was non negotiable but who knows if that’s actually true. Especially living in the Bay Area, 30k is stupid low. Like won’t even cover rent low. I have a ton of money saved just because I just graduated so I’m living with my folks saving for a house.
