How much is company culture worth?

When comparing a potential move to another company, how do you weigh culture/leadership against OTE?

How much money is enough to move you away from a sick gig that doesn't pay as well?

There's culture, and then there's "culture". Think flexible work hours vs. ping pong table.

If it was between two jobs that paid around the same (10% or so difference) I will go to the one with the better culture for my sanity.

Quite important. I'm not one of those people who can hate their job but stay because they make a lot of money. I don't have to love my job every day, but I need to at least like it most of the time.

My current company's culture/leadership team is amazing. My OTE are exactly where I need them to be right now, so I'd need to be offered at least 20-25k more than what I'm making now AND have comparable culture to even consider a move.

I couldnโ€™t agree with you more. Happiness at work is very important. I rather be happy and have less money than spend a good portion of my career miserable, even if it meant more money.ย

I took my current job that offered culture and career advancement over another role paying $20k more. The company I turned down didn't have any growth opportunities, employees were burned out, didn't seem to have cohesion and bond. Love where I'm at, they put the people first and I'd turn down the $20k again to be at my current company.

What would you do? Good culture, product-market fit/tech, growth potential - questionable manager, no equity, low pay
