How much is too much?

There's a line between passive and too aggressive - isn't there?

Do the amount of calls depend on the relationship you have? Do you make small talk or get straight to the point? Do you also email after each call?

Are we paid stalkers...?! 😂

☎️ How many times in one month do you call to close a sale with an existing customer?

Really depends on the deal

What's the size of the deal we're talking? Seems the larger the deal, the more it's focused on small talk and catching up.

Also seems inversely related on deal size due to different department approvals required and it just not being worth calling as often.

Good point. It is a waste if there’s a process to follow and no way around it. Then it becomes annoying.

Yes there is a line and it varies from prospect to prospect and deal to deal.

If the deal is worth multiple calls why not.. Ofcourse, also when I am far from quota

I would say it starts off 1x per week, and then it increases as you get closer to the close date/renewal date.

Do you take deal size into consideration or use that rule of thumb across the board?

This more depends on your relationship with the prospect. If I'm on good terms, I don't hesitate to check in a couple of times in a single week. If I'm worried about pissing them off, I'll minimize the calls.

I call the amount of times discussed when wrapping up the current call with the customer.

“Customer, I’m going to get to work on this proposal and turn it around rather quickly.

What does the process look like after I get it to you and what do next steps for us look like?”

Then shut up and let them tell you what their process is.

It had more of an understanding of the customer’s process for moving paperwork or approvals along than it does my relationship. Understanding the customers buying process and having realistic expectations for new information to be shared is more of a gauge on the appropriate time to follow up.

It's deal dependent, and I usually set a cadence to close when we are working through the final stages. The definition of final stages can very as well, however.
That said, I set up a call on a day/time we decide, and move to more frequently the closer we get to signature. Honestly, leave as little to chance as you can.

We typically meet with existing clients annually, but some are much more needy.

It really depends on how well you get along with the client. Casual conversation starters close deals.
