I do think it plays a part - what type of territory you get assigned, customers having compelling events, etc. 

However, you still have to put the work in to be in the right place at the right time and have the right messaging in front of the right people.

It's part of sales for sure, but you can make your own luck.

Timing can be luck, but you'll never get in at the right time if you don't try.

It is a numbers game, but there are things you can do to improve your odds, like product knowledge, understanding the industry, identify best power hour to call etc.

I don’t think there is any luck involved in sales and never will. Outcomes, no matter what they are or will be are the accumulation of the actions that you put in. No luck, just hard work. No talent, just hard work.
