How much of your success is luck?

I have heard time and time again that success in aales is defined by Territory, Timing, and Talent....curious to hear thoughts on why you think this is true or not?

Most of mine was luck and timing. I also had a manager who played favorites with me which helped, but that was largely because I showed him I wanted to be successful at first and asked him a ton of questions on how to improve. You get luckier the harder you work.

50% luck 50% skill is how I like to look at it. You need both at the end of the day but I agree with what @paddyย said "You get luckier the harder you work"

I think luck plays a much bigger part in sales than we like to admit, but there's a reason that certain people stay at the top

I would agree territory and timing are factors, id heavily argue it. but I also would argue that talent, determination and a positive attitude will get you pretty far as wellย

Iโ€™m lucky to have revived an opportunity to interview where I am. After that, it was just hard work. I owe a lot to both good fortune and good work ethic.

I'd say timing over luck. But you need to keep doing the work some when it is the right timing for a prospect, you're there.ย

I think a lot of "luck" is actually someone intentionally favoring you behind the scenes, but without telling you.
