Meetings Executed (edited - I forgot how our SDRs get comped lol). We tried tying part to closed business a while ago when I fist started, but if you support a territory with 12-24 month cycles you are SOL.

Meetings set is a good leading indicator, but not worthy of comp in my opinion. However, meetings delivered are a valuable output that is worthy of compensation, and therefore that's how I pay SDR teams.

My company does both and I'm grateful to get paid out for closes, but it's weird that after the meeting delivers it's mostly up to the AE to secure the bag

Prob a % for both. My sales cycles are longer so I wouldn't want to leave anyone hanging. Also, I don't want a bunch of unqualified shit either.

I'd like to add that not only show we as SDR get paid per meeting but if it turns into an opportunity as well. Def helps keep the motivation in check, more opportunities more money for everyone.

Meeting is obviously super important since that is what their roles are centered around. However, I think the question is missing some components:
I think the question should consider setting a meeting vs completed meeting, meeting -> opp conversion vs closed deal.
