How to ask for a raise on my base?

I just got my company to hire me an intern to help take off some of the tasks I do during the day that can be easily done by an intern to keep me focused on some of the bigger picture items and increase my productivity, but my base is lower than most people who have the same role as me. I started as an intern but was quickly made full-time. I still get paid to what I feel is roughly above intern pay, but do the same work as any other full-time employee. Thoughts?

As I'm sure many others would attest, no one will give you a raise unless you ask for it. Put together reasons why you should get a raise. What value you bring to the company, what logos you have sold, what clients you've retained, how you've helped your team, etc.

Be prepared to explain to your boss why you deserve a raise, and be prepared for the "it's not in the budget" or "let's talk about this next quarter" pushback. Be confident in what you are presenting and don't leave any uncertainty as to your impact on the organization.

Agree with ChiDog, have to ask to get. Bring facts about performance, what you are doing to grow your business, and what you are doing outside of your role (mentoring, helping others, etc).

I agree with ChiDawg. I was in a similar situation, had an average comp plan since I was hired straight out of college, I asked for a raise and got 3%.

I think it is harder to get a significant raise when you start at a company with little to no experience. I ended up leaving and got a 33% increase on what I was making.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
You should test the waters. Pretty much all meaningful changes in comp in my career were the results of moves.
