"Order what you want". No trick to it, just ask for what you want. The worst they can say is no. Or ask for what you want + 10% so if they counter you win.

Did they reach out to you or did you apply? If they reached out to you then you have a ton of power.

Options do nothing for me, fully-vested shares might. However, Base pays me now, so that's what I'm going to angle for. I always state my ideal salary during the "what are your expectations" conversation, that way I have a low-tide line I am willing to come down to. If they offer below it I'll state my value, and if they don't see it then I'll walk.

tell them this is how much you made in your last job and you need $x more to make the leap. Know your worth and show them!

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I try to set OTE expectations early so I don't end up way off in the end. Know what you want and be willing to ask for it.

I feel that it's easier to ask for an increase to your base. Equity can be something that is easier to negotiate as well but it just depends on what stage the company is in. If they are early on in the company, there is probably room to adjust the equity in the offers. If it's an established company and no longer a "startup" then equity could be more difficult to negotiate.
