Just want to shoutout @CoorsKing, @CuriousFox, @RealPatrickBateman,@funcoupons and the rest of the SAVAGES that helped me land these jobs.
First off. Mr Bateman, AKA@RealPatrickBateman , your advice:
"Reach out to their Sales Managers and VP's about availabilities on their team, why you're a good fit, and why hiring you will be the best thing they've done in years.
Trying to find a new job and interviewing for a new job IS SALES. You have to research, prospect and pitch. But this time its yourself and not a product or service.
Don't just look for "Job Openings" or "Now Hiring", look at established companies that may not have a job posting. Every sales manager has a few reps they wish they could replace, so go out and Kill. "
Was savage, perfect, & delectable. That leader that I reached out too on linkedIn with :
"Hey {{first.name}}, I'm reaching out about availabilities on your team! I would be the best addition to your team because I'm an SDR Savage, I go after what I want relentlessly without stopping, I'm creative as they come, and NO is not in my vocabulary. I guarantee I will be the best decision for your team!"
Was all like:
"We aren’t hiring from CA but reach out to (inserted linkedIn of friend hiring) You can use my name :)"
me: ***Screeching dolphin Noises***
So then I was like *KACHOW*
Then I went to the delectable victims page, found a recent article which was on Chris Voss (because she didn't allow notes in her connects) and commented:
"Hey {{first.name}}, I'm reaching out about availabilities on your team! {{first.dude}} from {{huge .ass.company}} sent me your way, I would be the best addition to your team because I'm an SDR Savage, I go after what I want relentlessly without stopping, I'm creative as they come, and NO is not in my vocabulary. I guarantee I will be the best decision for your team!
P.S. I have read and studied Chris Voss's books and techniques!"
then she was all like ALL UP IN MY DM's
"Hi! Loved your comment in the hiring post. Let's connect! What day and time works for you next week?
Can you send me your resume please? Thanks"
I WAS LIKE DAMMMMMMNNN CHILL MAMMA (not really but you know, excited)
But you know so I was like: I SENT THAT SHIT.
I was like:
"Hi {{dudet}}!!! OMG yes! I’m glad, because thats totally me 100%
So excited to hear back from you 🙏🏻
Next week I have a few time ranges and days that work well for me
⏰
Monday: 9AM-12 EST
Tuesday: 11AM - 2PM EST
Wednesday: 9AM-3PM EST
My email 📧 is: [email protected]
And my phone 📱 number is xxx.xxx.xxxx"
THEN SHE WAS LIKE:
"Great! Let's do 1:30 pm EST on Wednesday. I will send over the calendar invite with the zoom link. Thanks and have a great weekend."
I'm fucking pumped, it's same day Friday. 6 hours after my post with Mr BATEMAN.
ANYWAYS, we had our interview, of course I fucking slayed that shit. I brought that BDE without being cocky as Mr. Bateman had mentioned SO FUCKING ELOQUENTLY to me:
"BREH.... GOOD SHIT!!! Prep for the interview, bring that BDE without being a self-righteous dickhead about it and BRING HOME THAT BACON young King 👑 "
I told her all about my experiences. I sent a pre-email with a little slideshow about me as a person and my achievements/personality. I told her about my ethic, my savagery, how I practice, why I wanna work there etc.etc.(thats honestly a whole other post)
I asked about quota, culture, and closed, IE:
- How many reps hit quota last quarter -
- For me company culture is really really important, if you had to describe your culture in 2 to 3 words, how would you describe it?
- Hey, I really enjoyed our time today, Based on everything we've discussed here, I am 100% confident I am a perfect fit for this SDR role @ company, do you have and questions or concerns that will hold you back from making me an offer?
and she was like INTO IT. READY TO DATE ME. LIKE pfft. OF COURSE I'M ME COMEON.
Anyways, she's ready for the next steps which is some Vidyard assignment with an email.
But I pretty much did the same exact thing with all the other interviews.
The one I have an offer on coming in today in a few hours came INTO ME organically, dude connects with me on LinkedIn who is a whole SALES COACH like making events and speaking to companies 300 sdr's and shit.
(For a bit of background, I've been all over LinkedIn commenting/adding value everywhere with other sales leaders, coaches, company 'thought leaders' and the such. And I had completely redone my LinkedIn profile, changed my headline to:
Your next over-performing SDR - Want to book more meetings for your team? Tired of excuses? Hire me!
Essentially pitch myself as a product.(thankyou Mr. Bateman) Wrote a whole about me section that markets myself as a fucking beast that I am in sales, and changed my work history to show all the results I made, and the general idea of my work. I also prepped for interviews by answering the questions
Tell me about yourself.
Redacted*
I hounded down during my time at {{Ass.company}}, doing over 100 calls a day, and 100 LinkedIn touches. Following up getting so personal that you had to say no & why or take the meeting. I am R E L E N T L E S S.
I'm an effective, curious, turning-over-every stone type sales rep. I have an incredible growth mindset. Overperforming is my comfort zone, and I love pushing my comfort zone.
There is no obstacle or challenge too big for me, and no person I won't dare approach. I've connected, engaged, and gotten to know some of the most influential people on LinkedIn.
I set meetings for business leaders & solutions they never knew they needed. Helping rocketship their business.
*redacted*
Why do you want to start/continue a career in tech sales?
I have a strong desire to build my financial freedom, I believe I am built for the role, and I love providing solutions and value to business leaders in need. I am a big believer in that The scale at which you succeed is the depth of the problem you solve - ie. any success, financial, monetary, societal, comes from service, and that makes me find fulfillment personally and professionally in the role. I value the skills to be learned, the impact to have, and the money to be made.
What are your careers aspirations in sales?
I want to make a big impact, I want to transition into a closing role and make it into the high ticket sales. I want to develop my w-2, I want to make it into 6 and 7 figure income. I want to develop my negotiation, closing, selling skills. I want to develop my network and net worth.
What traits do you possess that will make you a good SDR?
I am relentless, gritty, passionate, energetic, curious, a self-starter, self-learner, I have excellent research skills, I am coachable, I take critical feedback well. I am easy to work with, I have excellent written and verbal communication skills. I am business oriented and empathetic. I listen well and discover what people truly need and feel.
Tell me about a time you faced rejection
I faced rejection alot at **shit ass company**, sales is statistically 95% rejection and thats okay, to me whats more important is going where you’re valued, so I almost seek it out in a sense, going for no, I don’t want to waste my time on someone who doesn’t value our solution or me. The right people for your product or you will value you, so it’s important to me to bounce back from that 95% unphased and to chase after that 5% even harder and more accurately. Or the 80/20 rule. To me rejection is finding out what doesn’t work, and tweaking my system delicately until it’s a smoothly operating machine. Sometimes rejection is valid and it’s to learn and grow from, other times it’s just not a good fit, and other times some people are just having a bad day. I don’t take it personally, I take my lessons, or take myself elsewhere.
Why this company?
I’d like to work at {{dope ass company}} because I want to work, grow, and have an impact in an environment that is learning-focused, motivational, and values open communication, authenticity, adaptability. Plus 900% YoY last year and the world’s best **redacted**. I think alot of companies get this wrong and I don’t want to support them. I think the product is amazing, especially in the remote era and with the growth of **redacted** a platform like this is indispensable. I appreciate the culture that is displayed as well,. I saw the perfect 5-star glassdoor reviews and 100% approval of the CEO which congratulations thats the 4/5 stars on g2 so I think this company would be a great place to work, make an impact in, and develop myself at.
So with all that being said. That's how I prepped for the interviews (proper preparation prevents poor performance)
I also got down my business exit story to sound super clean and successful(as it was) and took off the one bad experience off my experience on LinkedIn because it was just 3 months and awkward. I also said the reason I left my last company is that they were hiring for promotions and not promoting like promised because of VP pressure to hire instead of train so that after a year I dipped.
Anyways. Thats the jist of it.
People have been reaching out to me in my inbox, the sales coach came in my connection, I accepted and went:
Hey {{dude}} - thanks so much for initiating the connect. ✌ What made you want to stop by my profile or what caught your attention?
Dude went:
Sure **Mr savage** -- Well, I'm currently consulting a **redacted** who is trying to grow their footprint in the market. I've encouraged them to explore bringing on an SDR (who could evolve into an AE) and since we had quite a few common connections, I thought I'd connect. Your making a pretty bold statement in your "about" section "want to book more meetings! Tired of excuses?"...yes. We want to book more meetings and I am tired of excuses. I'd be curious whether it made sense to talk further about the opportunity. {{dude.}}
**dolphin screeches**
I went:
"Oh very cool! Awesome!
Well yes, although bold, I am in a word, relentless. I really dive deep, am tactful, smart & creative with my approach.
I'm extremely coachable, & I cover my bases, I'd be open to learning more about the opportunity.
Always looking to help when and where I can even if it's just advice. I have found that if there's a will, there's a way, but most people don't have the will. So there come the excuses.
We may or may not be a great fit but I'd be open to putting some time on the calendar to chat more, here is my calendly link for my availability.
Cheers,
Savage
https://calendly.com/**thesavage**/30min"
Dude went:
"You got it-- I sent to ** (the CEO) so that she can have the initial dialogue with you to see if there might be a fit. If it goes well, then you and I will have that 2nd chat. THANKS!"
Longstory short miss CEO and I, hit it the fuck off and I didn't even need the script, it seemed like a really fucking good fit, by the end of the interview we both were laughing and on great terms, she sent him my number he called me before we even got off the zoom, I stood up
**forgetting I was literally only wearing a shirt and my dick was out ((your boys legit naked from sex minutes before hand)) and we were still on zoom, i'm not sure if she saw or was off yet or not but LOL **
and took the call and pretty much this dudes a fucking beast, great coach, charges a shit ton, knows what the fuck he is doing, and would just set the shit up with me(SDR LEAD) and then not want to micromanage me at all because "she can't afford me quite frankly, I'm hourly" & "I dont want to have to wind you up every morning" **Dolphin screeches**
Anyways the call went great, he approved me and now she is gonna come back with an offer in a couple hours for me to go over with her. Base is 55 w/75k ote plus christmas bonus or some shit, Idk something like that I will see.
BUT YEAH. thats the jist of the last 4 business days. I've been setting up more meetings for myself by interacting on posts and just being like #hireme, doing the inbound connect message thing. I've gotten plenty of traction, the script/interview prep is rocking. the questions are killing, Bravado's got my back too. I'm feeling good as of now but ask me again in 4 months.
Anyways sorry for the lack of care in formatting and spelling and shit IDRGAS cause I gotta prep for more interviews but I FUCKING love yall, thankyou so much and thanks to everyone else who has been contributing to my posts I didn't expect this post to take 45 minutes to curate but whatever.
the kid,
Out
