How to hire SDRs

We are revising SDR recruitment process at our company and I would love to hear what is hiring process at your company?

what are the stages? How do you evaluate candidates? What are good questions to ask in the interviews?

I feel like with current process we don’t do a good job evaluating interpersonal skills and we don’t find what makes some click, where is their motivation. On top of that we end up hiring a bunch of different people that together form a bit of a dysfunctional team… or should it be that way? Should or shouldn’t SDR team click well together?

SDR roles tend to be entry-level and depending on how many applicants there are, the criteria may have to be sub standard to put assess in seats but in my opinion, one thing to look for is a genuine desire to explore sales as a career and not just as a job.

My recommendation - don't overthink hiring an SDR. Try to find good people who are hungry and you feel will be eager to listen and learn.

Maybe some experience in sales/relevant work, but it's an entry-level job, so c'mon..

Quality > Quantity

Hiring 20 ppls knowing half will churn out is a waste. Because with those odds half the ones who stick around are probably not great fits. Then the cycle continues...
