It’s a data analytics tool!

well It’s the pressure we get to sell the product with little to no resources. It’s an inside sales role and we focus on accounts in the medical space.

door knocking is underrated as fuck, on both a literal and metaphorical plane. Cold calling by identifying a target market and then doing just a little research goes a long way

Yes, my manager wants me to spend time closing leads. I spend my time between  selling multiple software solutions, demos etc. This particular product has NO leads and every quarter they ramp our quota. As I mentioned earlier can’t call just any business for this. We’re in a regulated space  it gets tricky.

Identify your target market, put a list of 100 of them into your CRM and start firing away. Find them any way you can, lots of ways to search online for people in different industries and gather their information. I targeted realtors and wealth managers, turned to YELP, Realtor.com, Linkedin. You can definitely build a prospect list and that list will actually be way more valuable because you will have done a bit of research to get their info and when they ask how you got it, tell them, they'll respect it.

Can you find ex-employees that work somewhere else and get an intro?  Sales Navigator works for this info.

Gotcha, use ex employees as an in to a company, very true. Only problem is, can’t just be any company needs to be pre qualified, specific criteria needs to be met to use the product. I’d need a list of company’s before I look for an in.

Sorry.  I thought you were looking for some assistance.  Now it seems like you just want to vent.

Shit, that sucks.

Venting and also seeing if this is a normal situation. I appreciate the feedback, gonna sit back and see how the other reps do. I don’t think anyone will hit quota and shit will need to change.

What is a "prospect list"? Do you have a CRM and assigned accounts?
Littlesaleslady

Well it’s a list of accounts that qualify to use this specific tool. If I call just any old account it doesn’t work and we have no efficient way of checking if this account is already on the tool. Our crm isnt built with this sort of the data just yet.

You can create your own prospect list and that should be step one.Use tools like Zoominfo, Discover, LD Navigator, Slintel etc

I’m going to try to create a prospect list, this question was mainly based off of what do you do when you have a manager that doesn’t provide the tools to succeed week over week, when they say they will.

this seems like a very strange situation tbh.

Can you not find your own prospects?

We are asked not to do so, but after reading through this I may step out of the norms of my role. I am tasked to close leads I am given and not prospect.

I absolutely get that and I'm sure they'd love you to be focussed on closing. However, this scenario surely highlights a bit of a flaw in the system?

I'd ask even to giver it a go and see how you get on

The Company itself has been around over 20 years, the segment I sell is fairly new about a year old. The product was adopted by our company recently as well.

It’s a lead list, in my case our field account managers are the ones that provide leads. Scandinavia is beautiful! How’s the sales out there ??
