How visually appealing is your CV?

Just curious because people tell you to have fancy CVs but people reading them are 20 years older and don't care about the colors? ๐Ÿ˜…

Mine is boring but still gets me interviews if I am looking for a job.

The only "creative" resume I've received was in the form of a sales ops dashboard. Each graph was a story about their career, then their attainment, etc. That was super cool...but we didn't hire them in the end because that's where their creativity ended.

In my opinion, for sales we should stick to hard data and let that wow the interviewers rather than a flashy looking resume.ย

Remember that salespeople aren't usually the first filter for a hire. Most HR people will filter first and Saleleaders second. So having some color may help if you're classy and professional about it.ย

I use orange fill for the headings, black text. Bullet points throughout.ย

It's a minimalist design, but easy to read with just enough "pop" to make it stand out.ย

Keep it simple and classy. Bullet points. Show value. Don't distract the reader with the extra shit.

Black and white and all numbers, heavily inflated #s too cause resumes arent worth the paper theyre printed on. But gets you in the door and then you use @paddys interview tips and boom offer on the spot

MAKE SURE TO RE-STOCK THE OFFICE PRINTER WITH PAPER PRIOR TO THE INTERVIEW. I CAN NOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS ENOUGH.

If you have never used creddle.io before - I cannot recommend it enough. My resume gets compliments constantly, and it syncs with LinkedIn so I can keep it up to date easier.ย

I'm a very graphic person, try to have a good eye for design and make use of colors to your advantage! There's a reason why magazines aren't just black and white, colors can be used to lead the eye and make a better reading experience of your CV to the reader.

Needless to say, BUT PLEASE DO NOT BE TACKY. Colors don't necessarily mean unprofessional, but tackiness will hahaha

Nuff saidย ย

Stole this from a LinkedIn post but it's actually good advice. For all of us going through interviews.
