I'm a firm believe that in your morning rituals you'll find yourself. Now my ADHD means it has to be short, sweet but attention grabbing. This is you time.
The first 5 things in the morning I do:
-Large glass of water and luke warm too cold shower.
-Protein breakfast and a work out. I keep a kettle bell by my desk to get the blood flowing through out the day.
-Review your tasks, to dos and macro needs. Make sure they're prioritized. Busy work is busy work.
- I take 2-3 mins to sit alone. It's the peace before the calm. Organize your thoughts.
-I leave a book I'm reading on my keyboard and read 5-10 mins a day. Everyone should do this!
For me 2 things always broke a poor sales cycle.
The first was perspective. I'm a believer in listening to your own calls- daily if you can. When I first started I had a flip book of objections. If I heard an objection and I wasn't good at it or didn't handle it well I would write down 3 word tracks and 3 examples. I'd then practice this in the mirror and phone.
Take a hard look at your sales AND NUMBERS. There are clues and crumbs to fuck ups. It's usually made in the repor stage. If you don't have something about yourself that sets you apart then you're just like the rest. I joke about potatoes. I'm the potatoe guy. I'll be bold and say, "I bet you've never done business with a country boy from Idaho."
The last is the most important. It's you. Ask your sales leader and peers for advice or a review. This isn't a pride moment. It's being humble enough to ask for an outside prospective or keep watching your checks shrink. As well, look for a mentor. Mentors can be a great resource for unbiased options. But beaware that a lot of so called mentors are worse than your pewee football coach.
Last bit:
I preach that you need a mirror in front of you on the phone. Trust me! You'll notice small voice intonations, slip ups, poor sentence structure and pause quality. Plus it makes you better at role play. 😅
If you're struggling, start with the basics. Too many times we start "killing it" and we forget where we came from. The basics are the cornerstone for everyone. Not just you when you're struggling.
Start again. Is it a bad day or a bad 5 minutes now controlling your day?
