Hubspot or Constant Contact for Drip Campaigns

Hey legends-

I am with a start-up. We recently doubled the amount of clients we have because we released a free version of our SaaS. It's a communication tech., so we made it free for a small amount of contacts. Went from 50 to 120 clients in 24 hours....but now we have bigger issues. No one is really using it, and we have no help videos.

I am working to put together a series of onboarding videos. Would you use Hubspot or something cheaper like Constant Contact? Hubspot is our CRM but the monthly cost will go from $45 to $850.....vs. $60 for constant contact

I would use whatever you can roll out the fastest, these arent clients yet since they are just using a free feature you all rolled out (unless I am missing something). These are warm leads that need to get worked now so use whatever you can spin up the quickest and get in your AE's hands.

Is there anything at this point that hubspot will do substantially better than constant contact? Since its all testing it seems like constant contact would be the way to go until your process is more refined.

I would go with the cheaper option simply because you will be testing your videos as well. Once you have the videos nailed down, and the client list is responding positively, then you could consider switching to the more expensive platform.

If I were in your shoes, I would see what the constant contact does for 1 quarter. If you are seeing good results, then stay with it for a bit. Eventually you will want to control it.

At the end of the day will that investment of $800 create more revenue for you that a $15 investment?

I've never used either but since you're trying things out you may want to go the cheaper route until you figure out if the videos help.

I used to use Drip and it was pretty solid. HubSpot is expensive.

Sounds like a great question for marketing.  Send them a slack and ask them.

I have used HubSpot for 3-4 years and I wouldn't recommend it for the cost. The format of sequences, templates, etc. looks awful when you send emails to multiple contacts.

It is efficient and I have used it for so long that I couldn't live without it, but I have to believe there are better solutions out there.

Go with constant contact. It’s easy enough to setup, load contacts and schedule campaigns over using hubspot. It will also provide event analytics for what you are needing it to achieve.

We have done this and whack together video testimonials to back up the free trial. Costs labour hours but not real money. We also have no help videos, maybe create a helpful video slide of how to use the software and follow up with current customers ROI? Dunno, I’d also like to know!
