Humor on Linkedin?

Opinions on sarcasm in comments or posts on LinkedIn from my main account?

As a former comedy writer now in financial services and back on LinkedIn its hard to bite my tongue sometimes.

Is this appreciated as a break of boring normal linkedin BS, or simply a shit idea? Nothing too out of bounds like my standup is, all PG. But still, am I an attention seeking idiot or gods gift to linkedin?

Could really work, could really backfire.

If you decide to do it, let us know how it goes.

OK, so I put dumb as hell just because most "humor" on LI isn't funny.

If you can break that trend, by all means, go for it.

people who understand that you're being sarcastic, making light of things, and making jokes will enjoy it. There's always going to be those people that take it way too seriously and get upset though so be prepared for that.

Absolutely sarcasm and being funny helps you stand out.

I much prefer that then you posting about how you hired someone with 0 experience and now they are a top performer.

"I took a chance on a candidate with no experience, who had not finished college because she had to work to help her immigrant family. She did not meet every requirement but I thought she had the makeup to succeed in this job.
Boy was I wrong. She was terrible. Couldn't even read. Lost the company millions. Started imbezzling and stealing Wheat Thins from the pantry to take home for dinner."

I guess depends on the situation and joke. Tone canโ€™t always be received over text as we intend it, as you know. But LI seems more uptight than comfortable and we need more laughs, and if ppl are going to let that ruin their day then thatโ€™s on them. Society needs to stop protecting the snowflakes and karens.
