Hurricane Ian Made Me Miss Monthly Quota

Hey people! So I was all lined up to crush my monthly quota which is a huge deal at my company as we have large Monthly Rev goals. and I had 7 meetings that I knew 4 of the deals would close.

Then the power went out and I can barely even post this due to sucky bandwidth and no internet access.

With that being said, I was forced to cancel all of my appointments as I can't get into SF without a VPN in order to get things done.

I'm a little annoyed, but bottom line I am happy my family is safe.

Have any of you had a weird circumstance cause you to miss quota that you had ZERO control over?

Were you the only one affected or many? Did you speak to you manager and try explaining the consequences of this inevitable circumstance?

I was the only one close this month out of 5 AEs. I haven’t been able to reach out to my manager due to lines and my phone going in and out of SOS and dropping service.

I will always remember Feb 2020, being on the verge of closing the biggest deal in the my career. We even got verbals and I was planning how I was going to spend the money. Then covid happened

Glad you're ok. Your managers had better be understanding.

Back in 2017, I did have one deal slip due to the 2017 Wine Country fires, as my primary contact was evacuated, but it did get done shortly thereafter.

I'm glad y'all are ok. The devastation in Ft. Meyers and Sanibel is unreal.

Yeah, I’m thankful that things are safe overall. I have a few friends in the Ft Myers area and they were protected through it all

No issues up in Canada, but that sucks.

That being said, you have a very good reason for it. Hopefully you don't catch any flack from management.

Is that by choice or just an unfortunate situation?

That is a choice. Alcoholism runs deep in my family so I chose to not be tempted.

Then that's a smart choice, many aren't strong enough to make it.

This affected both our reps in Florida and any deals on the table there as well

Literally just got power and wifi back today. I feel bad for everyone in Fort Myers and Cape Coral with how much damage was done.
My whole week was shot from this storm, but I'll take these first world problems over any devastation I'm seeing from this storm.

Yeah a few years ago there was a global pandemic that shut the world down that really through me for a loop.

Damn. I’m so sorry. That’s really unfortunate but what is most important is that you’re safe. If your job doesn’t see it that way, the war room would like to have a word with them.
