I am sure this has been asked before…but outside of the Tech/SaaS world what other industries still do big commish numbies? Any sleeper industries out there

I work in transport tech and was approached by a company to interview for as Sales Manager role selling cranes.

Got me thinking about other industries that have large ticket sales...but do they have the commission to match? The likes of

- Pharma
- Military
- Aviation etc etc

Apologies if this has been asked a million times before!

My guys are industrial and REIT’s - coworking spaces are super hot and manufacturing coming home to NA is a hot market too.

Military and aerospace can make some good money, direct or B2B sales. It's a very tough market to break into.

In the case of Media and Marketing would that be more the owners as opposed to the AEs/Sales staff?

I think they mean Media Sales or Ad Sales or Ad Tech Sales. This is the industry I work in, you can make really good money if you put the work in. I'm talkin $150-$200K base + commission as a Senior AE.

It’s highly specialized by sector and stage, but business brokerage/capital raising. I’ve seen fees commission of anywhere from 1% to 15% on just on $100M. Equipment finance and factoring are also huge percentages.

You can become a processor on a network like TSYS or first data sell the credit card processing machines and then get enough locations and you make a bunch off of merchants processing.

Real estate pays huge if you’re good at it. Have a friend who’s an agent that clears 300k a year working 20-30 hours a week and basically only works past customers and referrals at this point. Apparently solar pays really well too. Almost took a solar role at one point in life but the hours were nuts

My buddy works for a hydro vac organization. A pretty big one too. They are just switching his pay from base + % of net revenue to 0 base and 2% of gross revenue.

Not entirely sure of the exact nitty gritty details, but that 2% works out to be around $300k per year.

There are tons of industries out there that pay huge, you just have to know where to look and have an in.

Too many to list but the hardware software combo space is pretty good. Networking, AI software, anything in the capital space you can clear 300k-more.

Not sure if it’s relevant globally, but my mates in banking - specifically, mortgage broking - are making close to the same OTE with a significantly higher base
