First off, congrats! Secondly, you can ask us, but since none of us (probably) work with you, we won't have the best advice. Ask the top-performing AEs around you. What did they do when they made the transition? How do they stay on top of the leaderboard?

Best advice I can give you, trust yourself, trust your skills. It's easy to doubt one's self the first time you do something, but if you got this far is because you've earned it

I'd start by seeing if your insurance covers mental health services. Find an excellent therapist who can talk you out of jumping off a bridge every month. If you can do that then you should be good to go and everything else will take care of itself.

Congrats man!

Every role has a different level of onboarding but I would suggest you to get as strong as possible on the product side, listen to many calls from different AEs, ask as many questions as you want, dirty your hands in a demo account etc.

Beefany, my 2 points of advice are simple:ย
1) Become a product freak. Know everything about it, how it works, who it works for, why it works better than XYZ. After every call make sure the client walks away with a firm understanding of this.ย
2) RESEARCH before those discovery calls. The internet is the world's largest bulletin board and anything that a prospect(OR COMPANY) has on the bulletin board should be read about. Use this to your advantage although it may seem a little "stalker"-ish.

Most importantly, congrats. There are THOUSANDS of individuals that spend their entire careers as BDRs; you are not one of them and should be proud of that.ย

Congratulations!ย  ย Are you getting any training at all when you transition?ย  1:1 with your manager each week?ย  ย Those things can help get you started.ย  ย  Good advice from poweredbycaffeine about asking other AEs and from Diablo about getting strong on the product side.ย ย

Apply what you learned while as a BDR to stay focused and on top of your accounts and your process.ย  Good luck!

Biggest 2: - NEVER STOP PROSPECTING - Have all the self confidence. ALL of it. Youโ€™re the shit bro. Even if youโ€™re shit, youโ€™re the shit. Eventually you will no longer be shit, and instead only the THE shit

Congrats!! Thatโ€™s a great step in your career. Be open to learn. Ask for help - donโ€™t think you have to know everything. Shadow the top reps in your company and glean ideas and tactics from them. Be coachable, but also take things with a grain of salt.

Congrats! Set 1:1s with your leadership weekly and let them know what your goals are so they can help you achieve them. I found this was super helpful especially when I was feeling slow when it came to onboarding. They ensured that I was on the right track.ย

Then I would set 1:1s with everyone on the team off the bat to hear what is working/not working. I also use this time to gauge which rep is closest to my style.ย ย
