I declined an offer and still joined the company. Now i want out 3 weeks in. What do I do?

The company is in an industry I don’t like and i was sold into the company based on how this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I was sold. Turns out the company is rotten to the core, from the people to the finances + i was straight up lied to about a few things like quota, sales growth and more. Should i give it six months, should i bounce right away, or should i look for a new job whilst I’m still here?

You know the answer to this, and if you don't you've seen the answer that we all give to everyone of these similar situations.

Get out, get out, get out...or stay and be miserable, it's your life not mine (leave now if you got cash stashed, stay till you got the next one lined up if your hurting).

Always easier to find a job when you currently have one.

Filth hit the nail on the head, and unfortunately Fox is right.

So much harder to find a job whilst unemployed. I feel like the pandemic provided some relief to that, but we're probably right back where we started.

*sigh*

WOOOW this is a new one.

What did they say that got you to sign on after you turned them down?

And i would FOR SURE start looking for a job.

I wouldn't quit until you have a new job since im sure you need the money like we all do

“We were started a few years ago, hundreds of customers, we’re all closing 3-5 $60k+ deals a week, all inbound or referral, we’re profitable, etc.” - shit like that!

start filling out apps immediately. I wouldn't leave until you have something else lined up though. Still gotta be able to pay the bills in the meantime

I never get the 6-month logic. Leave today, leave 6 months later. But leave.

Hopefully you do a better job of due diligence next time... why would you join a company in an industry you don't like??? Who do you know of that is a success at something they don't like???  Selling is a transfer of enthusiasm and you cannot do that to the best of your ability for something you do not like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was ultimately laid off from the company by the same people who convinced me to join after i initially declined their offer. Let this be a lesson. A good decision making heuristic from naval which i failed to enforce: “when faced with a difficult choice, if you cannot decide, the answer is no”

I'm severely underpaid. I signed another offer & resigned. They're begging me to stay...

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldn’t be in for very long. They’re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now I’m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldn’t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.
