The last time I got this objection my response was, "Good, because I don't make cold calls. I know who you are, what you do, and that you have a problem that I can solve."
He laughed, told me that was impressive and gave me some time to pitch him. Closed it down 3 weeks later for 50k

When someone comes in with an ego its always good to have some balls in what you say. Great response @SaaSam!
Agreed, it will at least take you to the end of the exchange faster. If they like what you say you get to pitch. If they are going to get butthurt because you don't tuck your tail they'll tell you to fuck off. Either way, it saves time. Sack up everyone

They’ll hang up on you and then you’ve been given tacit permission to contact their boss or whoever you want and when they ask or say, “you should talk to Guy.” You can say, “oh he told me he doesn’t take cold calls and hung on me, that’s why I’m calling you.” They’ll pause and give you 15 seconds to pitch which is all we need in this biz.
Or they’ll transfer you to the front desk or someone else and you can do the above again because they signaled they don’t want to do it.

I don't get this often but when I do, I like to play the sympathy card and hit 'em with a Chris Voss special. "It sounds like you get a lot of these calls." Silence. They will say something, and usually it's "yeah we do, and I'm too busy for it/don't want it/etc etc" and I can speak on their issue from there.
The "sounds like" phrase is both disarming and sympathetic and they'll be forced to see you as a real person and not an annoying cold call robot.

Just find a way to ask them a question to engage that makes them think. As long as they know there is something that might be better, you can get them hooked.
