Unfortunately the seemingly great new role I obtained at the end of last January came to an end earlier this month. By the end of summer, the writings were on the wall that things weren't right. My manager and other team member were let go to our shock. It was out of the blue. Then myself and my remaining teammate in our department were directly reporting to the VP of Sales now. Lots of restructuring and empty encouragements later, 30 of us across several departments, tenured and killer employees, laid off. The company recently lost a discrimination lawsuit that a woman had filed claiming she was fired because she was a woman. It does seem strange that both the newly restructured Enterprise and Commercial teams all consist of men. My remaining colleague and I were both the only women left on the sales team. Who knows if that's the case but if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...๐ฆ Not so sure the direction the executives are going is going to work but hey, what do I know.
So back to the drawing board. I'll be seeking new roles in the UK. Would love to stay in the beverage industry (was just in e-commerce) but open to sales roles and other roles that still could pay well that aren't fully sales (does that even exist?!) With the lack of job security I've experienced in the last 4 years it would be great to feel some security if possible. I posted my resume here before I landed the last one but can certainly tweak it and pop it up here again if anyone is interested.
