I’ll tell ya what…. I’m the most nervous in an interview than with clients.

I feel like I'm not my normal self in interviews - phone, video, or in person. Like I stumble over words, go word blank, get the nervous sweats....

But I can talk to prospects all day and cold call/email or door knock and not think twice 😂 which sucks because all these interviews I have and I know I can do the job and I'm qualified, but it doesn't matter how many years I've been doing interviews or how much I play it out in my head and rehearse my answers - I still bomb them. I guess because I'm the one on the spot and the role is reversed 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here's the deal. You are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. They have no power over you. Remembering these points may help you calm your nerves. ❤🦊

Agree 100%, take some big breathes and do a super man pose. Should calm the heart rate

Change your mindset. The interview is a TWO WAY street that you can control in the same manner you do client interviews... by asking questions! Treat an interview just like a sales call. YOU GOT THIS.

It's nerve-wracking, because you are selling yourself, so potential rejection becomes personal.

But that's it - it's like any other sale. Sometimes it's a great fit, and sometimes it isn't. It has to be mutual. You have the opportunity to reject them just as much as they have the opportunity to realize you're not a fit. It's a process, and you've already proven you can talk to prospects, so see if you can flip your perspective and treat it like you do any other sale; qualify, ask questions, be prepared to address questions, and enjoy the conversation. They're there to learn about you as much as you are there to learn about them.

Funny… I can of feel the other way. I can kill an interview more or less every time. But sometimes I can more nervous when talking to prospects. 🤨😀

an interview is a conversation, much like any other interaction with another human. Always have questions and always be yourself.

Start taking those recruiting interviews when they reach out to you on linkedin, you know you wont take it, so you can harness your skill without the sweat. I did about 6 and it really made me feel better before the bigs one.

As with a prospect you are qualifiying them as well. Once this clicks you’ll be more confident

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldn’t be in for very long. They’re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now I’m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldn’t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.

Closed a $60k deal after my manager said we’ve lost this after the two people I was speaking to didn’t feel like introducing us to the CEO until they figured out some technical aspects. It felt so good.
