100% DO NOT go back to a BDR!

Find a company that values your experience, or figure out a way to communicate your skills better.

Also, what kind of healthcare tech are you selling that is "simple and boring?"

I am also in that space and that is not how I would describe it haha

I appreciate that feedback and I’m currently selling a credentialing solution. It took 1.5 years for me to get to that “simple and boring” stance tho.

What are you selling?

The company sells node management platforms to financial institutions, enterprises, banks etc.

Might not hurt to "start over" but still a risky move. Makes the resume a bit messy IMO

Are you in healthcare tech? I would move into that for a year as an AE (shouldn’t be hard) and find blockchain companies in the space. It will take a year or so, but you get paid at a higher level and can get to the AE role at roughly the same time.

Yea, healthcare tech. And I totally agree, the pay will be at a much higher level in the long run

Are you getting paid well? Does your company look after you? I’m guessing none of that alleviates or compensates for your boredom?

If it is a bitcoin company hell yea! If not do a lot of research. This is my opinion and it is prone to my bias and understanding of crypto but if we get a bear market because the Fed keeps tightening after record amounts of stimulus the only crypto I feel confident about is Bitcoin. Will it be a "multi-chain world"..very likely. I just have no idea what chains will win out except for Bitcoin. As my boy, Michael Saylor likes to say "There is no second best crypto asset"

Healthcare SaaS is boring/simple, blockchain tech is relatively young and more exciting.

Never heard anyone describe healthcare as simple...

I sure as shit wouldn't.  Ten years of my life in that darkness. But damn do I miss the company cars and custom fitted suits. 🔥

More context is appreciated here - Things that I would evaluate before making the change is what "start over" entails. 10+ years as an AE in the HC industry? or 6 months?

Go for it!

There is no better time to start working in the blockchain field than now (perhaps yesterday?).

I worked on a few blockchain projects myself and it is the most exciting place to be and you are still “early”, meaning that the best of blockchain is yet to come.

Though, make sure you have a clear progression path in your role and you will not stay a BDR forever.
