I'm an imposter. Help me keep the new job. What does good MQL look like in SaaS?

I'll probably get a role to convert MQLs into SQLs at this B2B SaaS startup with zero marketing or sales workforce as of now (only have 2 BDs and 8 techies)

I wanna know how should a good MQL look like so I can explain it to the new marketing hire (and not sound clueless) along with building rapport with other new hires and founder.

I'm fresh out of college and this can be my first good job.... So I wanna crack it right open and win.

What existing customers do you have, what do they use your product for specifically, and what outcomes has it had for them? Use that as a frame for a good lead - can we support this MQL the way we supported another org?

I'm having trouble with that... Kinda. Too new to SaaS and the decision makers are CXOs

Define your ICP and if it falls under it then you have a good MQL.

Imposter because I didn't let them think I have zero work ex. I acted and talked like I've been doing SaaS sales all my life, but truth being I never even touched SaaS

Fake it till you make it. Sounds like a great opportunity where you can be the one who drives the organization to adopt Salesforce and really get a grip on what leads are worth the team's time

Man, if I was the first salesperson at a saas company, I wouldn't be thinking about leads at all. You have the entire country (world?) at your fingertips to call.
