I’m building the commercial area in my startup from scratch…

could you recommend me with some tools for a Seed stage startup who is willing to build the sales area?
we don't even have a CRM, which one could be the best to start? (fellow sales people, if you wanna demo me just say it )

As far as CRM’s go salesforce is pretty decent from my experience. I would also recommend something for email cadences like Outreach or Groove. Can’t hurt to have something like ZoomInfo in place as well as far as prospecting tools go. Those are all tools my org uses on the daily so I hope this was helpful. Not too sure about the pricing on all of them so that’s definitely something to keep in mind.

SF is really expensive. On the other hand, quality is really important.

Set yourself up for success by investing in the best solutions out there. Get yourself an SDR or two, salesforce, zoominfo, Outreach, LinkedIn sales Nav, zoom and you’re golden.

Sales force is great, but can be very expensive if you add the extensions out there, without the extensions it’s more of a tool for AEs than SDRs, although if the money is there it’s the best no sweat, if not perhaps Microsoft dynamics could be the way to go.

zoominfo is the o my prospecting tool who should consider is way better than the rest no questions asked, please don’t get seamless.ai. When it comes to emails rocket reach isn’t terrible but I’d implement zoominfo way before.

I don't think SFDC is expensive in the early days, but can become expensive later on.

I think the main thing to think about is the structure of your team and what tools they will actually need and at what level. I think getting the best in class is a great idea for the non-negotiables, but you can get lesser options for certain things IMO.

I'd go for SFDC for your CRM as it scales better
Sales Nav
Zoom Info
Outreach if you can afford it
Phantom buster/Dux Soup for LI connector campaigns

I'd also make sure to have an idea of cadence and where each tool will provide ROI as you need to be sure of this spend and whether you actually need it. Nothing will get you fired faster than spending money and not getting results.

Would you say that Dux Soup is better than other options such as sales flow? Actually we are looking towards buying one LI campaign builder tool

I have actually found most of them to be very similar without much different at all, other than UX.

Best is to find one you like using that is simple enough and trust that one.

I'm a HUGE fan of Hubspot for startups.  Comprehensive, drop-dead easy to add contacts/leads into when combined with the equally inexpensive (comparably, specifically to ZoomInfo) LeadIQ.  It's a great 1-2 punch to get up and running quickly, with relatively low learning curves.  I've consulted for a number of early stage startups who have used this combo to start, and it's been great.

IMHO, Sales Navigator is a must as well.
So those 3 would be my trinity of sales tools at your stage.
Just a 2 cents, not the whole dollar.

Hope that helps.

JJASBE, what would you think a out a LinkedIn automation tool such as salesflow?

I've just not a fan of LI automation, in general.  There was a time I *almost pulled the trigger on MeetAlfred though.  Of all those I'd looked at, MA was the leader in my mind because of the *how behind it.  I wasn't sure if Salesflow still existed or not, but heard of a lot of issues with its use.

Stack: HubSpot, Pandadoc, Apollo.io. Each of those offers free or cheap options for small teams, and they'll give you all the power you need to get the job done. If you need a billing platform for subscriptions, I suggest Stripe. Cannot cheap out there.

From there, invest in building out an ironclad SOP system. Record the way you do everything, and iterate quickly. When you hire new people you'll get them ramped up so much faster if it's already down somewhere. Either use Google Docs or Notion to get that setup.

Finally, pay me a health 6-fig salary, and I'll run it all for you as your CRO.

We are actually planning in getting hubspot because of their sequence feature! Do you think it can be a substitute of other tools such as apollo or outreach? Or not as good

I think that it's far too redundant to use both, but see why you would if you were on another CRM like SFDC or Pipedrive. They're improving reporting and integrations of the sequences tool now, too, which is a key piece.

FattySnacks closed Consumer Electronics Startup for $55k to the Operations department
I started in my AE role about 4 months ago, working in the SMB space. It was taking me longer than hoped to close that first deal and could tell management was starting to ask questions. I was able to ...
Say congrats!
