I’m thinking about booking a demo at my sisters wedding

Basically my sister is having a huge wedding with 600+ people. I was told that my third cousin would be there (I have no idea who this dude is) however he owns a company that would be a great qualified prospect imo. Do u think this is unethical or should I try and book a demo at my sisters wedding. Keep in mind my role is an intern hopefully he will take me seriously.

Introduce yourself and buy him a drink, they should buy you a few minutes. Don’t have a book a demo just telling s out your company and get a business card then go back to celebrating. No need to be weird about it.

Also do you book demos often as an intern? You getting paid to book them?

Does @jaytea know how to do a demo as an intern? Do we know that a screen would necessarily be involved? Does the sister object to a demo station setup at her wedding? Has @jaytea starting drinking in celebration a bit early.

Sponsor the wedding in exchange for a primely positioned table to get some demos scheduled

Dance floor is probs a good spot with high traffic

Really I was thinking about making the whole wedding a huge write off and just expense it on the company. 80k isn’t that much right.

Yes I should just make him drunk and give him the contract. I can’t legally drink so idk how that’s gonna work.

Decent plan but doesn’t leave room for silver and bronze level sponsors. Dude.

Order a “Shirley temple” that way you have something in your hand while you bond and laugh over the contract he just vaguely and borderline legally signed

No lmao I would be sweating my cheeks off. I would just give them one of our AM contacts. Imagine. I just import and export a bunch of data on Salesforce I’m the backend of getting the SDR’s prospects as far as qualifying them. It’s boring but pays quite well for a remote position and I’m learning the tools which matter more to me. (Salesforce, outreach etc)

Good god, don't fucking do this.

Just make conversation about the prospect, what they like (do not fucking bring up business). Let them bring up business and then if they're interested in your company, then they'll ask you.

You're at your sisters wedding, go drink and have fun. Don't be thinking of setting demos especially if you're an intern.

Chances are, your company only sees you as a number.

I think it’s time well spent and you should absolutely do it.

Pro- it’s also a legit business write off

No need to make it weird, mention it in passing and make it very casual.

I’d ask if you could call him in a week or so to book the demo. Why not?

I would just ask for his card nothing else tbh if I were you.
As anything more may let you sound weird as you get to know the guy first since this is the first time to meet him, just make sure to invite him for a cup of tea to take things further, and I believe being your relative will make him easier to find when you need him and somehow unlikely let him feel being pushed for a sale!

Ahh! That sweet sweet feeling of booking a meeting on a call.
