I REALLY HATE BOMBASTIC AND CONDESCENDING COWORKERS

What do you do with condescending coworkers? I am really trying to get along with colleague. But he is being abysmal. And I did my first sales order today it was a lot of paperwork a lot of the methods they are using are like from the 1970s. Anyway this guy doesn't know how to train, or manage people. I try to avoid him if necessary.

Yeah good idea. In turns of sales I've been exceeding everyone by kpi weekly. Yes their sales order process is very exhausting. But I'm making sales that's what really counts.

So fucking true. Most my time when customers ain't around I'm just reading product knowledge. Spec sheets. They actually make draw the lounge free hand and you've to get the customer to sign it lmfao.

If I'm reading between the lines correctly, you're new, and he's helping train you?

So - learn the ropes and the processes so that you can deal with him as little as possible. Since you'll probably need to ask questions for a while yet, stay as patient as you can, but do your best to keep interactions to a minimum.

Learn the ropes. Download the information you need to success in the role. Extract the message just ignore the attitude behind it. Not ignore and distance yourself from the team mate that is suppose too give you the tools to success. Not every one is a born mentor or teacher it might just be this colleagues shortfall with personal skills.

💯. I get along with everyone else lol. He is just so irritating, and he wants to win conversation. Get this, I said I like to wear a different tie everyday and I said I had 60 of them, and then he goes onto saying he has 500 ties. I just think he wants to be centre of the conversation. Like on an interpersonal relationship he is okay. But he's exceptionally stupid. Making sexual jokes on the showroom floor is really bad for making your company look like a professional company. I've already forwarded this information to the manager. If the wrong karen hears that it only be had for the company. And I live in a small town of 200,000 people. Furniture stores are small. And there ain't many of them.

Performance review. My manager asked me these questions. I said like on a personal level we can get along sometimes. But I just feel like he isn't the right person to train me.

So the customer rang me up the other day after my coworker embarrassed the hell out of me. And they said that they were so embarrassed, and embarrassed for me also. They cancelled their order. Which was annoying they said they didn't want to wait 15 weeks for a lounge. But if my coworker didn't act like such a dick, I could've found an alternative lounge with less of a long an ETA. So that was annoying.

I'm a friendly, somewhat bubbly person and when I would encounter a terrible manager, I would strip them from the honour of my kindness. I'd just get through the meetings and whatever with as little conversation as possible. I'd feel satisfied with myself while still getting the work done. However, I feel it's a short term solution. I've never stuck it out for too long with managers like that.

My counterpart referred to me as his “little secretary” once because I planned a customer event quickly in our territory that he never could’ve managed by himself.

The only thing he’s closed this quarter is a $1200 change order, & I’m sitting at about $183000 so far.
