I should be receiving an offer from a big Corp for an AE role. What's your experience in negotiating during this early stage?

So I've been working for a start for a little over a year. Started as inbound sales rep, moved up to AE a few months ago. A close friend made an intro for me to their old manager at a pretty Suite company. Here I am in the backend of the interview process and waiting for my offer letter.

This position will require me to relocate to a new state where the cost of living is much higher. I am prepared to pitch my thoughts and get a solid package to come on board.

I just want to get any advice, thoughts, prior experience you can shed some light on as this is my first time going through this process.

How do I gauge a great base (I'm at 50k now), do I ask for a signing bonus, etc?

Took the higher salary and moved to Chicago for the job. No regrets in the slightest.

Depends on the company but I wouldn't likely angle for a signing bonus. Instead I'd angle for equity, higher OTE, potentially time off but for a large company that will likely be standardized.ย

I typically build my comp on the quota they have in place. 500k = 75k comp / 75k base = 150m OTE for a 500k quota.ย

Depends on the quota, company and city. However I'd shoot for at least 60k + base depending on commission structure and aim to be at 150k Min. OTE for an AE role.ย  ย Most will give you a bonus to relocate, so be sure and ask ;)

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Kind of strange they're making you relocate right now...Your experience is light but I'd say aim for:m

-At least an $70k base/$140k OTE
-$5k-$10k relocation bonus
-A quota that's in line with people's actual attainment
