I’ve been out on a plan and have a call with HR later today. What should I do 😣?

Been with my company for almost two years. last years because of covid I finished 60% to quota. Thisnyear they increase my target and to this days I've only done 20% of my target this far. I've been struggling to meet my month run rate. I have been doing everything I can by they hired another AE who took the better part of my territory and left me struggling with the part that has hardly any inbound leads and hardly does prospecting cut it. ive been working really hard to try and achieve my goals but they refuse to understand the change in my territory has anything to do with even though the other AE who took over is thriving. now I'm on a plan because of this and I feel sick to my stomach because of this treatment but don't wanna show it

Yeah unfortunately I would say you might want to start looking for other opportunities. If you’re only at 20% and the year is nearly half over, that’s a lot of ground to make up before the year ends, especially if like you say you don’t really have the territory to get it done.

What is the plan they've put you on, has it actually helped or just created more stress for you?

It’s expecting me to achieve what I didn’t achieve in the previous months.

So no actual training or assistance to help you get there? Typical of a place I wouldn’t want to stay at…

I'm sorry to hear that. I don't really have any advice, but sending positive sales vibes your way!

I was fired from my first job our of college and it truly felt like the end of the world... Looking back on it now, it isn't even a blip on my radar. Whatever happens, I promise that it's never as bad as you imagine it's going to be.

Sorry to hear that, sometimes people don’t understand that the market can change and always expect the same or better results, which is not always posible.

I’d start looking for options just in case, you might even find something better, a company that doesn't understand your struggles is not the ideal company. This might be the perfect time to move on and start a new journey!

Is your plan actually built to help you get back in track, or is it to frustrate you and get you to move on?

once you figure that out, the next step will become clear. If it’s to manage you out, start interviewing.

There’s no harm in interviewing proactively.

Pointed a prospect to a competitor. They came back 3 months later!
