Sorry but it's not gonna happen. Find a company hiring in Europe.

Working for a company in Europe is easier of course. However, in the US, there are interesting products that SDRs in Europe want to be part of.

The move to the land of opportunity!
It's really tough for start-ups to hire abroad. Especially when there is ample talent stateside.
What do you bring to the table?

That last part is so key. It's unbelievably hard to differentiate yourself for such a junior role.
There will always be someone who book as many, if not more, meetings that is local.

Hey!! Welcome to the War Room!
This is Gasty - WR Community Manager. Just wanted to highlight a few points.
WR is a Sales Community Platform with some of the best Sales people and their advice is pure gold. This is an anonymous platform and I see that youโve got it covered. Kudos for that.
We consistently post Leaderboardโs, Fun Fridayโs, whoโs hiring and more.
This isnโt LinkedIn, you can go as detailed as you want. Just focus on providing value.
Lastly, have you checked out the commission store yet? If not, I highly recommend. Earning those points is also super easy. Upvotes get you points. We got some amazing goodies that you can bag. Just be more active, post more, engage more.
This post could be a little more detailed to provide relevant answers. But great job on getting started!
Welcome, once again!

It's a tough ask given timezones (assuming you mean having a Euro SDR call US prospects)...not terrible for EST but for calling into PST from Europe (9hrs diff)...and then it depends on where in Europe (strong accent etc) and where the manager they are reporting to is located? Not sure what additional value an SDR based in Europe can provide over / above a US based SDR who does not have the same basic limitations?

Interesting opinion. Yet, is some European areas US startups are hiring SDRs.

Usually to help break into the EU market, though.

Just to clarify, my perspective is simply based on the obvious logistical / timezone challenges as opposed to any quality differences....sure SDRs both sides of the pond are equally effective...just raises the question why a US company would choose to deal with those headwinds when there is a perfectly willing / able local talent pool....clear there are a number of disadvantages (timezones, employment law, taxes, accessibility during std business hrs and so on) yet it's unclear what the advantages would be (variance in costs?).......you mention some start-ups are embracing this model....thoughts on why?

It seems like a lot of effort that you could avoid by working for a European startup. The time zone difference would be a big challenge that I dont think most companies would be willing to risk. Not to mention the additional hurdles of hiring outside the US and dealing with taxes, laws, etc. Why are you targeting US based companies?

I am not targeting US companies. I have seen a lot of US companies that have recently been hiring in my country, and I wanted to get some more information. :)

Time zone at the least. Find a global company with and EMEA or APAC division and it probably wonโt be too hard

Why are more US companies hiring in Europe this year compared to last year?

For the well known cost saving / efficiency / distribution benefits of offshoring. But that's primarily in the manufacturing / call center / tier 1 tech support domains......the original question related to a) start-up environment and b) specific SDR role.........you can't take the overall offshoring data (increasing trend) and apply it to every role / every business lifecycle stage / every industry segment....for all of the reasons listed above / below.

To find a company that can hire you outside of their HQ country. It's not easy, it's not cheap, and not many companies are going to give you that shot.

The US is actually at the forefront of outsourcing its processes. What are your thoughts on this?

What brought you to that conclusion? I donโt know of many US companies outsourcing sales roles. Source: sales leader.

Phillip j Fry has this nailed.
Why would they hire someone outside of the US when there is enough talent inside the US?
Only way, I see this working is that you work for a US Company specifically hiring in EU for an EU based role
Otherwise, logistical, legal and HR nightmare

If youโre not willing and able to work US time zones you have ZERO chance. There are too many meetings and opportunities to shadow/collaborate that wonโt happen if you donโt have the overlap.
Not to mention having to deal with exchange rates. US companies will pay you in USD. If rates changes that could mean youโre getting paid less for the same work.
They are hiring entire teams in Europe. Legal or everything else becomes easier when you know that you are saving up to 20% on costs. For example, an SDR in the US might say, "I want $5,000 monthly plus bonuses or whatever." In Europe, specifically in the Balkans, the same SDR will be happy with $2,000. If you can save $3,000 per SDR for the same job, wouldn't you accept the nightmare? Haha
