If AI was so great...

Why hasn't it reached the point of doing most of my prospecting for me?

Not joking...

If it was a really great tool I could just show up every day to a calendar full of intro calls with my ICP. Instead I'm manually trying to make sure I hit my quotas not just for revenue but now for dials, connects, meetings held, etc.

So let's discuss, because from where I'm sitting it certainly looks like AI is a very low-value selling tool, I really hope it's just the company I work for.

PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME THAT AI IS USEFUL TO THEM!!!!! ANYONE!???

Itโ€™s overhyped just like many other new things. NVIDIA will drop like a rock (itโ€™s stock). Yes AI will get better but currently people are trying to make it do too much too fast and are giving it more credit than itโ€™s worth. Most companies that have an AI element just bolt on chat gpt or similar and call it an โ€˜AI productโ€™. The hype will wear off. It may help with robots but for now itโ€™s just OK.

it is prospecting for you. AI-based emails and robo-calls, etc. Its all pretty bad and ineffective, but there are smart people trying to make it smarter. But sales will never lose the human touch.

**I** use ChatGPT to help with the heavy lifting for content, proposal writing, etc. Very effective and useful in that way.

You need to control the tool - don't be the tool.

IF AI WAS SO GREAT IT WOULD HAWK TUAH

But seriously, you're right. People treat it as a panacea, and it ain't that. It can be a helpful tool. I've used it for analysis and summarization.

I've also had colleagues that aren't as strong writers really like it for cleaning up emails and other written communications.

And the developers love it.

Thank you for the laugh. Canโ€™t wait for AI-generated hawk tuah memes and jams

Setting up AI to provide quality responses takes time and effort. It isnโ€™t something most of us are trained to do or necessarily have the time to learn.

That said, there are areas of my job where it is very helpful, and thereโ€™s a good deal of quality AI in our product, but itโ€™s not taking over the world any time soon.

AI is a part, not the engine.

You need someone to install it and build a car around it that can drive prospecting for you.

If it does our job for us then what will we all do?

Need someone to make the use of it. Platforms like clay.io are killing it in this space. When AI will not need anyone to operate then thatโ€™s a worry point.

In person is gold. Relationships key and those that use any resource (ai the latest) to help themselves, position and organization tend to accel.
Ai is not something I have time to study personally however if you donโ€™t see extreme value in it youโ€™re sorely mistaken

I always forget who termed this, but with any secular innovation trend, it will always be overestimated in the short-term, and grossly underestimated in the long-term.
