If I pay for LinkedIn, I shouldn't be reachable through sponsored messages.

I've been getting a ton of "sponsored messages" of late on LinkedIn. Made me think that a perk that actually might make any of the stupidly over priced options of a paid LI account worth a fraction of what they cost is to do away with sponsored messages and ads.

I don't personally pay for SalesNav, if it was up to me, I'd have my company just give me that extra money because it's not worth a damn.

Mostly from recruiters, yes.

What fresh hell is this?

Another reason I'm simply not on LI that much.

Yup.

In the past week I've been cold contacted for donations, lead gen services, and today a university offering an HR degree program.

I guess I never have clicked on those. I have been getting the standard recruiters - one with the absolute best outreach (where they clearly read my profile and detailed what they were looking for and what in my profile was a fit) and one asking me if I'd be a BDR (where I finally crankily said "what exactly in my profile leads you to think I'm a fit for this position?"). I get enough random solicitations in email for lead list purchases that don't fit my industry or my role right now. Would clicking on the sponsored link just encourage more of the same?

I don't click on links in LI. These aren't someone just using their allotted inmails to reach out but sponsored marketing messages being sent directly to me.

But in your messages section, yes? What I meant by click in, is that they remain unread unless you open the message. I haven't opened any "Sponsored" message in LI.

OK, just went and checked. First one: "as an HR leader, I know you..."

Yeah, worthless!

I've been mildly intrigued by well known Canadian schools, but so many random virtual MBAs - NO THANKS.

Must be some ROI somewhere though

I don't actually. I pay for streaming services specifically because I don't get ads.

The private photo, but public LinkedIn profile. Should you do this if you're hot as a nice surprise once connected? Or if you're ugly to remove bias?
