If WFH Ends, Will You Quit?

Once the pandemic eases and offices open fully, will you begin looking at other companies if WFH is no longer offered to you?

Will you look for a new company that offers WFH if yours requires you back in office?

I was hired remotely. 2k miles away from HQ.

I would likely leave unless you have some amazing job. There are way too many great companies out there hiring remotely to stick around at a dinosaur that forces you into an office despite the fact that you crushed it all last year. Thats a load of bullshit. Dont waste my time. You don't pay me for time you pay me for results. I can generate results from Bermuda, Bay Area, Wakanda, in flip flops, in a suite, or in my kitchen.

Love it! I can cold call and comb through contracts on the beach. I can pretty much do everything from my phone.

yea im a bit salty but very very opinionated when it comes to WFH. Do not force me to do anything. I over deliver ARR month over month. Do not f*ck with me.

Sellers that hit their number need to realize that they are entirely in control of their situation. You can go work for anyone you want if you can show a track record of consistent over performance. Especialy in Saas

All in on this.  If you hit, let alone crush, your number on my team... I don't care if you work from the fucking moon or your bedroom or the beach or the club.  AND I don't care if you can do it in just 30 minutes a day.  Doesn't matter, provided that you are available to share your 'How' with your teammates when they ask.

It's not as black and white as quitting. Let the competitors poach you, negotiate. If you are smashing it and earning, push the boundaries and find the line before your VP 'has a word with you'

My company is 100% remote already but if I had to leave I would not go anywhere that required me to be in office. How else could I browse the War Room all day instead of cold calling....

Hahaha work from home definitely has freed up some time for War Room browsing

Working for a company that provides Business Continuity solutions, it's my opinion that staff that has been working remotely, will still get to do so once or twice a week.  Simply put, it's less expensive to work from home than have everyone in the office full-time.

In addition, let's say your company has a terrible WFH solution - they did this to save money.  To be able to survive in a post-pandemic world, top talent is going to expect remote-work access.  If companies begin bringing employees back and don't offer any sort of WFH benefit, top talent will leave - and recruiters know that.

Recruiters are looking for any way to have the edge.  Right now, it's offering their candidates opportunities that allow for a proactive solution that will allow WFH part-time or full-time.

If your company refuses to catch up with the World as it is, I would expect that your role there isn't as safe as it was before the pandemic.  Be safe, and constantly be looking for new opportunities.

PS - I put yes, and it counted as a no.

I honestly don't think I'll ever spend another day in an office unless I want to do so.

It was up in the air on whether we'd go back to. the office for a while, but we now no longer have an official office, so we're WFH permanently!

Most likely, yes, I'll be looking around for a new gig if my company doesn't allow WFH.

It's hard to say what will happen as they haven't made a decision yet.

My prediction is that many companies will have to allow WFH to some degree just because of the way the job market will look.

I'm gonna jump the gun and say, if your company isn't getting flexible with this after this freakish hell- pisode, they're never getting flexible.

Find a better match.

Speaking from the perspective of living in the bay area I would leave my company. First, there are loads of other good companies that allow WFH full-time. Secondly, I wouldn't be as good at my job. I would lose at least two hours of productivity per day as there is standing room only on the trains and bumper-to-bumper traffic going in all directions.

Not only that, daily, it would cost me $5 gas, $5 parking, $20 train round trip, $12 lunch. So combining that with the time lost commuting, I'd definitely leave.

I’m hoping most work places opt for a hybrid model.

My wife and I are living in long-term Airbnb's this whole year. I worked out to be remote even if they did a company change. If they did somehow ask me to return, I'd quit before going back.

I'm actually looking forward to going back into the office. I miss humans and water cooler conversations, and the energy of my peers.   I worked from home for 10 years earlier in my career, and over time its mentally exhausting.

Nah, I'd like to be able to do a hybrid type thing. I miss the office, but don't want to lose the flexibility that WFH provides

Most companies are going to adopt a hybrid WFH standard.   That being said, if you are a top performer and continued as such during the pandemic, but are still being forced back into the office....I'd personally start looking elsewhere.

Companies really aren't going have much of a leg to stand on. There will be people who want to be in the office and those who don't. But telling people which one they have to do is not going to fly.

We are now permanently in office M-W and home Thurs-Friday. I don't hate it - some of my support staff quite honestly needs to be in the office for me to get anything out of them.

In the office, WFH, work from an igloo I don't care. If I like my company, like the people at my company, like the comp plan, I am sticking with that company.

I think forcing people to be in the office now or forcing them to WFH is where companies will go wrong. People want the choice and mandating it either way is foolish from any company

I'm in outside sales, but do work remotely 99% of the time and set my own schedule. I'd actually go a little nuts just sitting inside all day so it's a nice mix.

I would  definitely quit if they ever tried to make me come to the office everyday, all the non-closing simpletons have to, but Closers make their own rules.  It pays to be a winner(In every fucking way!)

I would for sure quit. But with that being said, my company is based in California, but the VP’s live in Texas. All the other reps are in California & Texas, but I’m the only one in Utah. I’m never going back to the office LOL

My house now is about 4x the size of my former LA apartment. Closest neighbor ~25 yards away.  Oh and its about $500/month cheaper in rent. Ya, I'll be rushing to get back...
