My b, new to the platform so I haven't been seeing what's come through already.

To be fair though... the platform looks like Reddit and a key element of Reddit is reposts to farm karma

Don't worry about it. War Room will figure it out over time but there is just going to be overlap for now.

I love it - no matter what someone’s got to comment. One side is “use the search and find the old thread” then the other side is “why did you comment/revive such an old thread?!” poor new people.

I would like to comment and ask have you seen their requirements for the entry level position? Who has business dev. experience for 11 years and is looking for an entry level position? I have friends that work/worked here and they hated it. IMO they aren't going to get people who meet their criteria unless they are paying $300k base for entry level.

They have the best SDR and sales team. One of the best tools for prospecting. I think most of companies will turn to them

While I agree their product is awesome, not sure they have the best SDR team. Also their linkedin presence has completely turned me off from working for them. One of their SDR managers has some dumbass blue hair style and everytime I see a post from him I want to gouge my fucking eyes out.

Also had a few colleagues/friends work there and it's a bit of a boiler room from what a gather. The AEs seem to be fine and enjoy it but they have some really bad turnover.

I am looking at buying their services for myself as my company doesn't provide me with these tools. Excel spread sheeting activity like its 1985.

While I agree, it was one of the worst interview experiences of my life.

I'm not sure if it was startup growing pains or what but I definitely give side eye everytime I see them in the news.

You should have taken the hiring manager's position then! They aren't fit for that role.

Funny you mention that. I noticed that person is now at another company.

Shocking.

Seems like a lame answer, but Zoom. Rumors are that they are going to enter into the Cloud Call Center solution space to compete directly with Twilio, Genesys, Five9, Ringcentral, etc. by buying a smaller competitor

I know at lot of people there. It's not a great as outsiders think it is. Lots of chaos internally, territory changes, etc...

Zoom is so easy to beat rn because so many businesses made knee-jerk reactions to go with the one name they knew and have had a poor experience. Not that it's all Zoom's fault (save the security snafu), but I personally wouldn't work for them anytime in the near future. Their competitors mostly had the luxury of watching things play out and fine tuning their own products over the past 12 months- all the benefit with very few of the same hurdles.

Fraud went waaaay up in the past year as more stuff moved online. Ecommerce platforms for the most part don't even bother to address fraud as part of the capabilities. Good leadership helps and they've got it.

I almost worry that with Amazon it's kind of like Salesforce at this point, tons of sales people, small territories, cannibalization etc. Plus they are a pretty flat org through and through so promotions sound few and far b/t. Would definately be alluring later in my career though

Yeah I can see that for sure. What do you think a sales role would be in a company like that? I'm guessing as more financial services pop up that will be where some B2B selling can happen. It's definitely a ripe field for some companies to get some funding and explode.

Selling the beta of wireless 5G in rural Canada. Selling something people desperately want and currently can't get. I'm guessing each sales cycle is about 12 seconds.

My bad I should have said StarLink instead of SpaceX, all part of the Elon Musk umbrella.

Haha yeah I was thinking rockets, that might be a big sale but probably a long cycle.

It's hard to keep straight what companies are under what umbrella with the Elon Musk stuff, but I do agree, Starlink is going to be a big deal before much longer.

I don't exactly know what I would sell or what they would sell, but it would be pretty sick to work at Nat Geo. Maybe I will just go buy a camera and become an underwater shark photographer. ha
