I'm in healthcare. I'd recommend to try and get in with an established (Not a startup but not a 20 year+ company) biotech company.

These are the companies that will be paying good $$$ with opportunity to advance while selling some really cool shit.

is it easy to join it without technical background?

I wouldn't say it takes any more than any other job in tech sales. Of course, it might vary company to company. But the ones that I'm aware of just hire good salespeople and train them on the different products they offer.

I didn't have a background in security, just SaaS sales. If you're a good salesperson they can teach you the tech.

I think security experience will help but if you've been selling a complex SaaS product and can illustrate an ability to learn most will take a chance on you. That's how I broke in! Go ahead and apply -- the worst they can say is no.

I don't work in the cyber security industry. So I only know what I've heard from colleagues within it. And I don't want to say anything that could be taken negatively on this platform. All I can recommend is doing plenty of research. Look especially closely at employee reviews and see if you can identify patterns in people's praises/complaints of the different organizations.

Top cybersecurity companies will place more of a premium on some type of technical background than your typical SaaS vendor, for example. But that goes for any industry where your target buyer is in IT, product, dev, engineering. That's not to say have a technical background is necessary --- but they'll care more in cybersecurity sector than many others.

Truth. For every successful agent, there are dozens (if not more) struggling. Strikes me as very much a "who you know" career. Our first real estate agent was a referral from a friend, our second was a family friend.

Something kind of boring but stable and lots of money. Construction (concrete, glass, demo, gravel) or hardware tech (phones, computers, boardroom tech). Its recession proof and so much money.

It isn’t the sexy sales job but going on the other side of construction and being their source for safety equipment is booming. Legally they need it and the industry doesn’t slow down.

My biggest kicking-myself moment was that I was offered a job selling for a veterinary telemedicine company and I turned it down because the base salary was LOW.

... but I was offered that job in October 2019.

I would have made a FORTUNE.

So. Many. Regrets.

But I would still stay in the veterinary space. It's what I know. I'd probably like to jump to pharma or software, though.
