Im making a transition, advice?

I just got an offer in SaaS sales!

Im moving from a very transactional sales role in lead generation sales for Real Estate agents and im now moving into a methodical & longer sales cycle SaaS position with a start up.

Whats your advice when it comes to creative prospecting, finding the right person to talk to, and getting to the closing table!

Thank you!

Please use the search bar, there have been tons of in depth discussions on all of the topics you mentioned. Also please chill with the lame memes.

Slow your role, quit spamming the feed with posts, and use the search bar to find the answers to your questions. Exhausted the search function? Then post a thread.

There are many threads on the topics you asked about with high quality responses from seasoned savages.

Haha y’all act like I’ve posted 100 things it’s called creating a conversation maybe other will appreciate a new thread. If you want to call people out and be a troll then there are great apps like Reddit you can go to.

I'm not being a troll, I'm trying to help you. People appreciate value, and so far you've added nothing but some bad memes. If you want to get defensive then this community and perhaps sales is not right for you.

Do me a favor and tag me in a thread where someone is exiting transactional adverting sales in to SaaS so I can be apart of it.

Do me a favor and stop engaging @SalesStash. You're not proving a point, you're just adding to the noise. Leaving transactional advertising to join a software startup is not unlike leaving any industry to join software, SaaS-based or not.

Check out the Onboarding Series on @CoorsKing 's profile. This will set you up for a smooth onboarding experience, and perhaps open you up to some interesting conversations that have taken place on the topic. Now, go fishing.

Read my stuff (also in academy) and search “prospecting” and “enterprise”. There are tons of great threads on this exact question @SalesStash . Welcome to the software sales grind. I would also read PBCs threads on the SaaS market

@poweredbycaffeine Is there a way to just search categories on here? I find it hard to use the search bar for just general categories? For example when creating a post you have to add tags or topics. Is there a place where we can simply click on a topic without needing to find it in a post? Does that make sense?

Hi @SalesStash, you seem to be new here, so welcome!

We have a ton of threads on similar topics that are rather fresh, so please be sure to exhaust all current content on the site. When you are done with that and find you still have questions, feel free to make a post on the topic and explain that you have not found the specific answer you were looking for.

Finally, you may notice that while we do use memes and gifs in this forum, we do not create entire threads about them. Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc, are great places for that content. It's simply not a form of conversational currency in the WR.

PS, don't get defensive if you don't want vultures. While some advice may seem aggressive, we are all trying to build a solid environment here.

@poweredbycaffeine Now thats a professional. Thank you for the advice! I love this platform but i hate trolls. Wish there was  Dm feature that would allow more directional advice vs ganging up on someone

Understand your company, process, how other s'ful guys are working in org. That's the first step. Once you are done and know your challenges, search in Bravado and I'm sure you will get your answer. All the best!

Quickly study the current customer profiles and ensure your product marketing team/colleagues have a very clear picture of your ICP (ideal customer profile). My best advice to shorten a sales cycle in this market is to encourage customers to 'crawl' first rather than getting stuck on a huge POC or enterprise rollout - which slows deals down and gets too many 'cooks in the kitchen' sort of speak.
