Im too nice damn it!

I've been told I am too nice at 2 different companies so far.

I cant help it, its my personality plus I want to be helpful not shove something down people's throats.

They want me to be stren/agressive with my customers and push for the sale, basically a 1 call close.

Maybe its because of the industry I am in which is insurance sales.

Im dont know im getting tired of this type of sale.

There's nothing wrong with being nice, but you'll have to also be confident and firm. I'm going to guess your management sees you giving in rather than navigating a way to a sale. You don't have to be a jerk and uncaring, but your job is to find a solution (coverage) that will work for the customer. Perhaps some practice overcoming common objections and having good stories to help move your pitch along will help you.
Alternately, if you truly don't feel that what you're selling is valuable and you're having a hard time with it, you might want to consider another kind of sale that suits your preference better.

There’s a difference between nice and weak. Nice goes a long way, but weakness can be exploited.

Backbone is what prevents nice from turning into fool.

Appreciate you! What sucks is I am confident for the most part and I figure out if its something they need or not, what sucks though is when they have a solution already they want us to push and sell them more coverage which makes sense in some scenarios but not the majority.
I'm more of a consultive type of seller.

You be you! Whatever works for you. I mean, if it's not working in your favor then always make changes but as long as the work gets done. Be whoever you are.
